According to the Jeopardy! site, Frank was scheduled to compete. I missed a couple shows in the first round. Did I miss him? What happened?

That would be interesting! Actually he’s a particularly notable past champion, a NYC transit cop at the time he first competed. Charismatic and humble, with killer recall.
I’d love to see him kick Jennings’ butt!
IIRC (no guarantees) he was the first five-time champion to break the $100,000 mark before they doubled the values.

I love Frank. I remember him very clearly from his first competition, then TOC (he didn’t win), then they brought him back for an earlier ultimate champion thing. I really hope he is in the finals.
Dang. Rick is going to kill me for having him say “I love Frank.”

It may be a little late to let you know but Frank Spangenberg is on Jeopardy today and Chuck Forrest is on tomorrow.
For those keeping score, Frank won yesterday. I’m glad, because he’s always been my favorite Jeopardy! champ. I hope he gets to the finals against Jennings and really “reads him his rights.”
