I signed up for the test but I missed it – completely forgot about it. Then I found all the Jeopardy-related emails in my spam folder :smack:
I thought the Planck question was plainly just a bad question.
I think you can still take it tonight? Tonight’s eastern taking time is 10pm though.
I’m not suggesting that I would have known the answer (I wouldn’t have). But most of the others I got wrong I either knew I didn’t know (Titian) or knew I should know (Joyce). But I was annoyed with a question that I didn’t know if I actually knew.
Are you sure? Wasn’t it called something else? Or maybe that was awhile ago.
I don’t think that’s any of your business.
It used to be Constantinople
I’m registered for tonight’s test! Hope they don’t ask too many questions about 19th century opera or something like that…
Why they changed it, I can’t say.
Best of luck to you (and to me, too)!
I just took the Wednesday test for practice, and scored a 41. Strangely, I bombed on the author questions (except Sarah Palin ), which is usually a strong subject for me. Last year, I took the Wednesday test and it was my worst of the three, and the prior year I made it to a tryout.
It should be noted the OP is incorrect–it’s not January 8-10, it’s 7-9, which means tonight is the last day (I just registered).
Got 41 on Tuesday’s, 33 on Wednesday’s. Clearly I need to read more literature.
Yeah, 31 for me on Tuesday. A couple I blanked on (I know the capital of Libya, it just didn’t come to me until about 25 seconds too late), a few I didn’t know at all, and a couple I thought I had right but I was terribly, terribly wrong (jete? Really? What was I thinking).
Anyway, this was the first time I tried it. It was kind of fun. You either know the answer or you don’t.
Well I am clearly not Jeopardy material. I got only 31 this time. It’s interesting to see the holes in my knowledge. Apparently I know very little about current literature, ancient mythology and geography. Or the troposphere.
I’m registered for tonight. But at my age, I have trouble with names. Of the ones I missed last time, most were names that I knew, but needed a little more time to think of them.
I think that “photon” should also be accepted as correct, especially when the question emphasized EM radiation.
P.S. Thanks to this thread, I just remembered to sign up! (The dates are wrong in the OP, though.) Twenty minutes to go!
Alright, almost there!!! (PLEASE no opera questions!!!)
I’m logged in - probably won’t do me any good to test. But this thread reminded me, and I reminded Darth Sensitive, who has actually been called for an interview in KC a few years ago and who is trying to get to that stage again. He’s the one with the right kind of wide knowledge base for Jeopardy, though I kick his ass in a few specific small categories. Good luck Dopers!
Just took it. Either I’ve become ten times stupider than I was last year, or that test was a bitch. Easily the worst I’ve ever done.
I did HORRIBLY. I’d be surprised if I got 20% right.
