It's Jeopardy Online Test time, 2011

You can now register for the Jeopardy adult online test, scheduled for February 8-10, 2011.

Register early, and good luck!

Just completed the registration again.

I’ve got time to start breeding Patagonian cavies, or some other interesting hobbby, before the interviews come around.

I’m currently in the contestant pool, having auditioned in November, but I might take it again, just for fun. I’m not holding my breath about actually being on the show, as my interview sucked.

Thanks for reminding me! We don’t have tv here so I miss the commercials to remind me. I took the test a couple years ago and didn’t get called, but it’ll be fun to try it out again. Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the reminder. Let’s see if I can crack 30 this year.

Thanks for the notice! Here’s hoping I do a little better on the online test this year than I have the last couple of years.

I’ll be trying for the first time. Mainly for fun since I would have no way to make to an audition city even I did do good enough, and I would be horrible on TV. What is the online test like?

Just signed up. There’s no testing site in Chicago, so I picked Orlando if I manage to make it to that step.

Like riding a bicycle without a seat over a series of railroad tracks during a major earthquake.

You have 15 seconds to read the question, think of an answer and finish typing it in. If you don’t immediately know the answer, you are toast.

Thanks for the notice. I just registered (wish they still had the Senior Championship).

Since 1986, I’ve passed the test several times, both in LA and in contestant searches here in Austin.

I’ve never actually been called to appear on the show. I assume it’s because they have plenty of nerdy white guys!

I’ll probably take the test and try again. Too bad they no longer have a seniors show, since I turn 50 next year.

Three times to the auditions for me so far. Too boring for TV.

I was telling The Wife about how different Dopers are from other internet groups. Last time I remember all of us going “Damn, I only got about thirty-five of the fifty. That sucks.”

Another TV-related site I participate in had everyone going “I think I got at least thirty right! That’s awesome!”

Serious geek reference anxiety around here.

Registered again.

I’m out of the contestant pool now, so I’ll be taking the online test again this time.

Just registered, and picked the Lexington audition. That’s the first time I remember Lexington, or any city near here (Cincinnati), being one of the choices for the audition.

I plan on taking the Wednesday test as I would have gotten the highest score on the middle night all of the last 3 years.

Still in the pool from May (which is weird to think about- I could theoretically get called at any time!), so just College Tournament for me this time. I’m 2 for 2 (I think) as far as getting college auditions, so let’s hope I can keep my run going!

No Chicago site hurts pretty bad though. Kansas City is close-ish- I’ll have to settle for that.

Is there a list of cities where they’re coming? I don’t want to register for the test only to find out I need to hundreds of miles for a test centre. :frowning:

AHHH!! NO!

I can’t take the test cuz I’ll be in class! Damn me for furthering my edumacation!!!

You still may be able to take the test - there are three tests for the Eastern, Central/Mountain and Pacific times zones on three consecutive nights. You don’t necessarily have to take the test in your own time zone: last year I screwed up and missed the Eastern time zone test (got the day wrong) but was still able to log on and take one of the other ones (Pacific, I think). I got an audition and am now in the contestant pool, waiting patiently for the Call. I’ve already seen two people on the show who were at the same audition I was (as it happens, the two I predicted to myself were most likely to get on - I think personality goes a long way in Jeopardy auditions).
