Yeah, I had to say I’d go to DC, which sucks ass - last time I went to Savannah, which was a drive but doeable. I do have family in DC, so I guess we could make it a visit.
How does that work out… if I’m in the pool, they may call me to an audition city, and if I’m picked do they fly me to LA, or do I have to pay my own way?
You have to pay your own way, but remember that the person who comes in third gets $1000, and 2nd gets $2000. Hopefully, that $1000 ought to cover your flight/hotel/car expenses. If you’re the returning champion at the end of that filming period (they film five shows/day, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 23 weeks a year), they will pay for you to fly out the second time, although I don’t know how other expenses work.
So, the test was asking me for a Zip code and state, but the thing is, I’m…
shifty glances
…Canadian.
I’m sure I’ve seen my kind on the show before. Has anyone gone through this process before?
Yup (well, not to the show, but to the audition). You just have to choose an American city to do the audition in (I chose New York). Don’t remember there being any particular problems with the registration - maybe it’s as simple as putting your postal code in the zip code space and province in the state space.
My eighteen months ran out the end of November, so I’m registered for this online test. I’m telling myself I’m not too boring to get picked, but I didn’t get picked, so I could be telling myself a fib.
But it’s fun to try.
double post, sorry.
I think my 18 months are up and I’m back in the pool.
Trying to decide if I want to try for the college tourney or the original flavor.
Oh, good…you’re who I was looking for in here. I couldn’t remember if it’s been 18 months or not. Going to register now!
Yep. I’ll be taking the Wednesday flavor because I’m unavailable Tuesday, so good luck Tuesday.
Yes. I got called in for an interview this past fall and am on the 18 month eligibility list, so you can definitely take part.
Dopers:
College or real?
As it has been thirty years since college, I am required to take the easier test.
…well, I think I did OK on the sample test…
And add me to the choir–no Chicago test site? What’s up with that?
LEXINGTON AUDITION?! Oh dear lord. Now I have to at least try!
Although I’m hopelessly paranoid about the betting portion of double/final jeopardy. I can just see me as the subject of the thread from early this week: She bet WHAT?!
I registered! I’m going to be nervous for a week.
Reminder for East Coasters - the test is tonight.
Man I wish I had a professional speller standing by, I always blow at least 8-10 on spelling crappily
How long does it take for the page to load???
Oh, there it is.
Good luck, everyone. 13 mins to go-time.
