Jeopardy! Top Ten Winning Streaks?

What are the top ten winning streaks on Jeopardy!? The current champ seems like he may last awhile although he was lucky to get a “NFL” question for the final round versus a female contestant.

Bolding mine.**

Good thing the Final Jeopardy category wasn’t Cooking or Fashion, huh?

He ran a football category two days before and the FJ question (name the only NFL team who’s city and nickname start with the same three letters) is pathetically easy for someone with any football knowledge.

In the Double Jeopardy round, there was a category about hair salons that confounded all three male contestants. Just sayin…

He’s done well in the cooking categories as well as named Tabitha (fashion) from a picture. He seems pretty well rounded to me.

I think that’s where the Tabitha picture was. I was kinda surprised they stuck with that category for as long as they did.

Not to change the subject or anything, but does the current champ remind anybody else of James Gandolfini?

A little, if Gandolfini did a little head-duck and gave a smarmy grin while shifting his eyes back and forth every time he came up with the question.

And, ya know, looked like he wanted to be your friend instead of shoot you in the face.

I see what you’re saying but the teeth in the grin and something about that eyes is Tony Soprano to me. If it matters, back to the OP’s question perhaps, I prefer this guy to Ken Jennings by a long shot.

So is anybody going to bring up the list, or what?

I didn’t see a list of longest streaks but looking at this list it seems like our current champ is already in 6th place. IIRC, yesterday’s winnings pushed him over $200K.

Good work! I agree that he’s in that range.

Why did he wager nothing in the Final Jeopardy round? He figures he’s made enough money already?

Because he didn’t think he was going to know the answer…so why bother losing any money. It was a run away game so he didn’t have to defend his position.

::Checks time of post and current time:: That just killed the last 17 minutes of my day and I could probably spend the next hour on that site. Between the old games (complete with clues and answers), statistics and terms I had to looks up (Coryat Score) I could kill a lot of time there.

That’s just wonderful, but not relevant to my point at all.

So…what’s the answer? <—no football knowledge

The Seattle Seahawks.

Ever since his first appearance, I’ve been trying to figure out who he looks like. He has a very strong resemblance to someone, but not Gandolfini.

So you’re saying it wasn’t luck that he got a football-related FJ after he showed extensive knowledge of the sport two days earlier? I know some people like feeling offended when someone suggests women don’t know as much about sports as men, but I think it’s stretching a bit in this case.
