I can’t believe there’s been no Jericho thread yet.
Very informative episode. A whole heapin’ of Hawkins. We learn more about his background and about the plot. So now that Jake knows, what does he do? Does he tell his dad? I know he won’t tell Gray, but you know it’s going to be leaked sooner or later.
Mimi playing the role of “big sister” to Bonnie: When she told Bonnie that Sean is not allowed in the house, I expected Bonnie to say “it’s my house, not yours.” At least she’s trying to win Bonnie over by learning to sign.
Didn’t it seem a bit implausible they were able to have a headstone carved for April? I would expect some kind of marker, yeah, but what with trying to find food and heat, don’t you think a headstone would be low priority?
This is precisely why I PVR (canadian Tivo) this show. I can watch all of the interesting stuff and blow past all of the stuff I don’t care for (which is most of it). Last night I blew past all of the Gail/Johnston Green crap and watched the entire episode in about 20 or 25 minutes. There are episodes in the past that I have watched in less than 10.
The Hawkins stuff wasn’t bad but I was sort of hoping for a story that left Hawkins’ past a little more ambiguous in the beginning. I definitely want him to be a good guy but I kind of wanted something where he starts to apparently be bad but his good points and the real story would then begin to be fleshed out over a long period of time. In the end I find that more satisfying.
I don’t mean to say that they should’ve kept teasing us, I hate that.
Yeah, I’m glad I DVR this too. Jericho is a unique experience for me. Normally if a show irritates me enough to fast forward through large parts of it on a first viewing, I just dump the show. But for some strange reason, I keep watching - albeit with my thumb hovering over the FF button.
This latest episode though, I don’t think I FF-d anything. Mimi was entertaining, especially with the chicken.
Hawkins’ revelations felt rushed, assuming we can even believe them. Has this show been renewed for a second season? Maybe they’re trying to rap things up before it gets the ax.
I was kind of thinking that but they did dramatize his story (is that the right word?) and I took that as he was telling the truth. Plus, at the end of the episode he made the rather obvious realization about the bald dude with the cane and that appears as though he really is figuring the real story out himself. From that it would seem to me that it would be less likely for him to lie. If it turns out he was lying I hope there was a hint I missed.
