Jerry Sandusky’s appeal in the Superior Court of Pennsylvania will be heard next month in Dallas High School’s auditorium! I’ve heard of traveling courts, but this sure is ironic. We sure never got to do anything like that in my social studies classes. Sandusky himself isn’t attending. I wonder if it’s a safety issue; one hand convicted sex offenders aren’t allowed near schools let alone inside one, on the other hand he’d be in chains and surround by armed guards.
Besides the high school boys are probably too old for him.
Typically a defendant would not be present at an appellate hearing. No evidence is going to be presented, no witnesses will testify. This will just be lawyers making arguments to, and answering questions from, the panel of judges. Prolly going to bore the shit out of the students.
FYI: That’s not Dallas, TX. The Dallas School District is in Luzerne County, PA.
