I don’t get the animus. I have never found Stoid to be particularly unreasonable, and I say that as someone who typically disagrees with her (at least in the old political threads I recollect).

I’d rather not wade through a 9-page thread–anyone want to provide an example of something that contributes to her freaking dipshittedness?

The most obvious and compelling reason the possibility of an afterlife calls for more consideration than dragons in the garage or vampires is the fact that the vast, vast, VAST majority of human beings who are now living and who have ever lived believe in some version or degree of it, while the same cannot be said of fairies, dragons, or vampires.

The reason this in particular bugs me, is that she is saying that while there is no evidence for the afterlife or dragons, the afterlife requires evidence to disprove it, while dragons require evidence to prove their existence. The only reason for the different standards is that the afterlife is more popular.

That argument is drivel of the highest order. It’s annoying enough on its face, but the silly bitch is actually attempting to show what an enlightened debater she is.
