Bud, yer losin’ me.
I don’t follow you… are you trying to say that there is a difference between calling Jesus and hypocrite and calling him a dick? If so, then you’re not hearing me. Reread my last post, focusing on the part where I discuss people who make things up.
Look - Jesus was a lot of things (depending on which one of us you ask) but we can both agree that he was not a dick, right? As a matter of fact, Drain Bead herself joined our little club when she posted:

That’s pretty clear, right?

Ummm, I’m not sure what you mean. I don’t think I have ever presumed to defend the behavior of any Biblical figures… I may have offered rabinic insight into the simple understanding of the Bible, but I think that is a far cry from “defending.”
You finished up:

No - sorry… there is no difference. I don’t care whether we are talking about God, Jesus, Abraham or Foghorn Leghorn. My opinion remains the same: If someone wants to say something negative about a personality I respect, I will debate that point as reasonably as my opponent allows. If he or she is not reasonable, I will stop debating due to lack of an opponent. I will not defend a respectable personality against inane attacks.
There just isn’t enough time in the day.
Speaking of not having enough time to answer silly arguments… You asked me (as a fellow religious doper) to come into this thread and offer my opinions; I have done so. I find it ironic that I am having trouble convincing you that you can’t convince unreasonable people to stop believing unreasonable things.
Drain Bead did what she did. You seem to object to the use of the terms “Jesus” and “dick” in the same sentence.
Too bad.
C’mon man, let’s get back out into the light where we can help answer the questions people ask about important things.
I’ll see you back in GQ and GD.
