Tomorrow, we have an assignment due. It consists of sticking pieces of black paper onto pieces of white paper. All up, it took me about an hour. It’s worth 50% of our final mark for the semester. Yeah, it’s a very cruisy unit.
Half an hour ago, I found out that I’d read my unit outline wrong. It was due last Tuesday.
Fortunately, if we drop a class before the census date, we don’t have to pay and it doesn’t go on our records. Unfortunately, the census date was last Friday.
:smack:
Shoot an apologetic email to your professor. This might go without saying, but do it now. The longer you wait, the harder it is to explain. Trust me, I’ve been there. (I missed a final exam, for Og’s sake.) Hopefully the prof will be understanding.
Hang in there!
The semester hasn’t even started yet, and I have fucked up. (With my nemesis the Bursars Office, but its still a fubar. )
If there is justice in the world, Mustrum Ridcully will be appointed Dean.
I’d email him, but I have a class with him tomorrow and I’ll almost certainly see him before he sees my email. The best I can probably hope for is an opportunity to resubmit the assignment, as if I’d handed it in on time but failed, in which case I’ll receive the minimum pass mark of 50. If not - well, we’ll see about that. What a crappy start.
Just out of interest: what is the unit?
Typography. And… he’s said I can hand it in since I was sick and therefore had a proper reason for missing class. I still have no idea what’s going to happen but it looks like I’m not failing. I doubt I’ll get full marks for it though. Hoo-rah.
