Jet Blue?

We all know that Southwest revolutionized the airline industry 30 years ago.

What do you know about this new Jet Blue Airways? Have any of you flown it? How are the fares? Do they have a shot at surviving? Are they the next Southwest?

I have flew them a few times and I hope they survive. I live in NYC and had a family emergency in Fla. I called in the A.M. For a P.M. flight and figured to get raped on the fare, It cost me $182.00 one way with no round trip ticket- more than fair IMHO.Big seats very comfortable ( I am 6’3")I will use them evey chance I get.

Recent startup, hub at JFK, mainly NY-Florida and NY-California route structure, all new aircraft (A320’s), fairly well financed, good reputation for service and fares so far.

Long-term growth prospects for new or small airlines are never good, however - Southwest is an exception, due to their protected monopoly at Dallas Love. In the new environment, where the entire industry is shaky, who knows - but you’ll do just as well with Jet Blue meanwhile as with anyone else.

I love Jet Blue. They are really cheap. I flew from newyork to california round trip for 300 dollars at christmas time. The seats are really big, they have atelite tv on the back of everseat and they give out these great blue potatoe chips as snacks. The chips alone are worht the flight in my opinion. They used to only do red eye flights, but I think they expanded and now have daytime flights too. I fly them every chance I can. Oh by the way, they have lots of leg room too.

I’m a big JetBlue fan…they have so few flights that the counter is never crowded, the fares can’t be beat, the planes are brand spankin’ new, and, c’mon, every seat gets satellite TV. Nothing like flying cross country while watching the Food Network and learning to make a cheese souffle.

In fact, last night I booked six roundtrippers to Florida in January.

We are flying them to NYC this fall. Everyone seems to love them, even Herb Kelleher, CEO of Southwest! Follow the above link for the amazing story of the founder of JetBlue.

Try it, you’ll like it! And give your support to the little guy!
