This is the way.
This morning I had an appointment with my hematologist. It had been scheduled a few months ago, as part of my regular checkups. However, I had been wanting to see her anyway because for the past month I’ve been having days when I didn’t have any energy, which is usually a sign that my anemia is kicking in again. So she ordered a full set of tests. When she got the results, she messaged me: “You are quite anemic. I’d recommend that we give IV iron and I’ve requested an expedited infusion appointment.”
I was not surprised, as we had discussed this possibility during the appointment. Fortunately, my calendar is almost completely clear for the next two weeks, so I’m available any day they want me to come in. I’ve gotten these before, so I know the drill; come into the clinic and after some preliminary work the infusion itself usually only takes a few hours.
Marinara can indeed be great! I’ve had some very enjoyable marinara before. I really like it quite a bit.
Just not with spaghetti.
I get a seniors voucher worth 50 dollars for fruit and vegetables at the farmers market each year.
Missed last week and went today hoping to get more strawberries and plums. Nope all gone for the season.
They had Christmas in July. I left before Santa got there and worried about him with the heat advisory.
Thankfully they had him in shorts and a t shirt.
I get ya. Penne or rotini is good for a red sauce.
Yesterday, I got an email from my Useless Congresscrittter, praising Trump’s “wisdom” & announcing he voted for it.
Fuck.
Agreed! Both are excellent.
My senators are both quite happy to announce their Nazi tendencies and profess their adoration for Dear Leader. Pisses me off no end too.
My rep is part of the Opposition. Or should we start calling them the Resistance?
Well… vote him/her/them out.
I’m in a situation where I’m waiting for a particular thing to happen “any day now” (business days; it’s work related) which could mean Monday or in three months and apparently there’s no way to get any sort of timeline estimate from anyone and I’m pretty sure I’m going to go crazy (crazier) in the meantime.
Every end of day, and every end of the week, just upset me more as the powers that be just don’t seem to do anything.
I’m tired of being patient. I’m angry at a system that just fucking sucks.
What a joke.
The MAGA Morons yip & chatter, and believe what they are told.
Marsha Blackburn only has to stand up with a flag in one hand, a Bible in the other, state that all Democrars are devil-worshipers, and BAM–she gets re-elected.
We’ve got to find the strength somewhere to organize, to work together to get people to and from polling stations, to get the word out and to vote. Legally, it is the only engine for change available to us. It is the only POV for change which the owners of this board will allow to be posted.
Canada doesn’t want us; Europe doesn’t either. Why would they? What does a large swath of close to retirement people offer to their countries? The vast majority posting here are older and are too far invested in where we live now to leave even if we wanted to. For us, it’s either organize & vote or sit on our asses & die.
And you don’t seem like your ready to sit on your ass and die.
My husband asked me last week if I’d seen the second key to our old POS van. I had not, since I rarely drive it.
Today I found it.
In the pocket of a pair of shorts he’d tossed in the laundry hamper.
AFTER I’d washed them.
Oopsie (and fuckfuckfuck)
If you truly mean a physical metal bumpy key, obviously those wash fine. If you mean a battery-operated fob with buttons, those usually wash fine too. Usually.
Everything on the web seems to be “My Grandma’s favorite recipe for…” or “My Grandma’s genius organizing tip” or some other Grandma hack. Who knew Grandma was good for something besides Jell-o salad?
“Organize”?
With who ?
The local Dems vary between Republican Lite types & nutjobs that you’d expect to break out into bird calls at the drop of a hat. And NOT at a birdwatching club, either.
The local Dem head got up at a meeting & trash-talked about the kids in Antifa.
I’m in Tennessee.
Problem solved.
Tennessee is rough. The Moderate Dems don’t trust the Antifa kids & the Antifa kids don’t trust the Moderate Dems. Without them voting together as a block, no Dem will ever win.
Honestly, aside from you, I’d probably write the whole state off as a treason state loss. It sucks to have to say that but, well, there it is. Its a shame that a lot of the MAGA there… the young, the elderly, the veterans, will be dying of lack of healthcare, vaccinations, if not starvation soon.
I’m sure they’ll blame Democrats. I’m sorry that you’ll have to see / live through that.
I opened it up and took the battery out, and seemed to be perfectly dry inside, but I’ve left it open to air out and I’ll get a new battery for it. We’ll see what happens …
