JFK Assassination Poll

So my Elvis theory isn’t popular? :dubious:

Of course it was Oswald and a lucky shot (or three).

oswald killed jfk. whether it was his own idea just to get headlines, or if on a to cuba, it was suggested over a game of dominoes is up for grabs. for oswald’s personality type, even a passing, “chez, someone should just shoot him” remark could seem like an opportunity to get noticed and attention. he really seemed to enjoy the small limelight he had after he was arrested.

i think that ruby thought he would be a hero and get a medal for shooting oswald. the fact that ruby was in texas doesn’t make that seem unreasonable.

Lee Harvey.

BUT what happened to the man with the umbrella???

I used to be on the fence but fairly sure Lee Harvey Oswald was alone. Since coming here I’m now certain that he did.

Oswald was the only shooter. No doubt in my mind.

I realize this is just a little poll, but this seems like the best place to get my 1.99 cents in (yes, I’ve slashed prices!).

A word of advice. Don’t listen to the name-calling cranks posting on this site. Most of them have read one book or web site, now think they’re experts, and want nothing more than to show off.

And don’t listen to the media, either. If you watched the ABC special the other nite, which was little fact and all persuasion, you’ll know what I mean.

If you really want to understand this event, you have to read the literature, both pro and con, and keep an open mind. Do not treat the Warren Report as anything more than just another competing theory (albeit a good one). Do not take what anyone says as established fact. Know that it will take a lot of time. And realize that the best you’ll ever do is to come to your own conclusion. You won’t be able to come to a definite conclusion. The facts don’t permit a definite conclusion. Not yet, anyway. Not if you’re intellectually honest.

My answer to who killed JFK: I don’t know. The same answer it’s always been.

From my post in another thread:

Hugh Aynesworth, a reporter who was in Dallas forty years ago, concluded a recent article on this subject with the following, which seems to sum it up pretty well:

"Often I am asked why I do not believe there was a conspiracy in the JFK assassination. After all, most Americans do, according to several legitimate polls. I usually tell them I do not know if there was or there wasn’t.

All I know is, there is absolutely no evidence of it.

I’m still a reporter. Still looking for the evidence 40 years later. If it exists."

Edward deVere, Earl of Oxford.

Oswald alone.

I’m asked to believe that a conspiracy can be this airtight after this many years? Someone would have popped a leak, even if just for peace before dying.

I’m delighted at the virtual unanimity and

Oswald all by himself, of course.

uummm I have a silly question-----who cares???
It happened 40 years ago-- and knowing or not knowing is’nt going to change it.

An amazing concensus. Makes me doubt the validity of the jury system.

Interesting connection in the Florida Keys:

Oswald acted completely alone- 99% chance

Oswald carried out the assasination alone but was manipulated into it by others (renegade KGB, Castro, mob, but not CIA)- 1% chance

I believe that Oswald fired the first shot that missed and the second shot that hit the President in the throat and the Governor in the back. I believe the shot that hit President Kennedy in the head came from the front right. I do not know why the fatal shot was fired or even if Oswald was aware that someone else would be shooting.

At least Lyndon Johnson agreed with me that Oswald didn’t act alone…:dubious:

Before Kennedy’s assassination, there really wasn’t very much of an “antiestablishment” faction in the sense that we think of it today.

Why not ask who believes in UFO’s or Bigfoot?

You’re not going too get many (if any) folks that are gonna voluntarily wear a tin foil hat. Except for me maybe.

I think Oswald was probably duped into it. Too many coincidences, too much disinformation, too many conflicts between interested parties, too long coming up with the “facts”. Too simple to swallow. Sorry folks if I disappoint but I’m not convinced. I don’t know who, how, and why. But I think GHWB knows and I don’t trust him and his bunch, never have.

and this is too long, Sorry Eve

BTW, I used to think Oswald acted alone. Now, I’m not so sure.

I don’t think it was Oswald by himself.

Who did it? I don’t know. No lack of suspects though.

But assuming there is a file somewhere that has more evidence than the general public has seen - it would be pointless to release that information during this generation. My guess is that any “new” infomation will be released in 50 years, if ever.

I think one problem was that the American public, and the world at large back then, was not prepared to hear all the facts. It was a simpler time - and it was more important to carry on than to air all the dirty laundry that was involved. Would a nuclear war of vengence been better than allowing people to think it was the hand of a single madman?

There still is some information that is not to be released for about another 25 years. I can remember wondering as a young person if I would still be alive. (Now I’m wondering as an old person.) What is it they still need to keep secret – especially when so few people concerned are still living?

Two things that were not seen until more recent times: the photos of JFK’s body and the film of the fatal bullet hitting his head.

He was killed by active American Military. LBJ knew about it in advance.

FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!

I’m Jealous that I didn’t think of it first!
