Wow, this is a tough year for older celebrities. Jill was only 66. I remember her best in the comedy with Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor in Silver Streak.
Jill’s listing at imdb
I’ve seen a lot of Jill’s movies. It’s been awhile. She always did a good job. She was recently on TV in Dirty Sexy Money.
It was odd to see “Smokey Robinson Teams Up With Cracker Barrel” on the same page. I truly can’t imagine a stranger world. Anyway, R.I.P. Jill Clayburgh. I enjoyed all her work.
I remember her as being willing to get naked a lot in the 70’s (in the dawn of my awakening, when watching An Unmarried Woman on HBO was the closest I could get to porn). Not a bad actress, though. She could do both comedy and drama pretty seamlessly.
Amazing that she continued working right up till the end. imdb shows that she just finished a project. I saw a few episodes of Dirty Sexy Money. I regret not watching it regularly. IIRC Jill was really good in it.
A few months ago I did both seasons of Dirty Sexy Money on DVD. Enjoyed it because of the strong cast, and remember including her very specifically in that “strong cast” point.
People can live with chronic leukemia for a very long time and show almost no effects. My sister was diagnosed about 30 years ago and only recently had to undergo chemo. Same with my first cousin. If they didn’t tell you they had it, you wouldn’t have known there was any problem.
Never thought much of her looks, although I remember she was considered hot in the 70’s. She was in a few leading lady roles, like the mentioned Silver Streak and** North Dallas 40**. She was a decent actress, though. Hadn’t thought of her for years until seeing the OP.
