Am I the only one that thinks that Jim Gray should get punched along with the fighters?

What the hell was his logic in giving the referee and the boxing commissioner such a load of crap regarding the Etienne/Botha fight?

Actually I know what he was up to- controversy, a story, etc.

What I don’t understand is why anyone talks to him?

Actually the referee made an excellent suggestion to Gray. Let Jim Gray referee a fight.

Those that can – do. Those that can’t become sportscasters.

If you didn’t see the fight or aren’t familiar, it doesn’t matter- the question is “why do people allow themselves to be badgered by media types?”

Jim Gray has been on my poopy list ever since the Pete Rose interview debacle. Every time I’ve seen him since I either mute the TV or change channels.

i agree that Gray was an Uberasshole after the fight, but I don’t feel too bad for that Ref. though hurt, Botha clearly heard the bell and stopped fighting, The ref and Ettiene were less than 2 feet away and claimed not to hear it at all. Etteiene hit both twice (not 3 to 4 times as Gray seemed to think) well after the bell had rung. On top of that, he mishandled the entire fight and was pretty much an inept referee. I watched that fight hoping to see something good after that travesty of a Ruiz fight and all it did was sweep away a little more of my faith in boxing.

I’d love nothing more that to see Jim Gray removed from sportscasting entirely. The man is a piece of garbage, in my humble opinion.
