Jim Morrison Is God - A Love Her Madly MMP

Happy Birthday, Meli!

I’m home too, but I’m tired and going to nap for a bit before actually posting.

Well, I’m home, and the work begins.

My new (crappy, temporary) power supply didn’t have enough power leads to hook up all 4 drives and both the CD and DVD drives, so I had to steal one from the CD because I’m out of splitters. Stupid cheap power supplies. Everything is working so far and the new drive is currently being partitioned and formatted. In about an hour or so I’ll be able to begin the ghosting process, which will probably take a few more hours. Bleh. But at least when all is said and done I will (hopefully) be able to boot from the new drive and be back in my old pimped-out Windows instead of this temporary bare-bones installation.

Did I mention how much I hate molex connectors? Those annoying, wiggly four-pronged power leads for your hard drives and CDs? I can never get those things to mate properly 'cos the damn prongs don’t line up with their respective sockets without some wiggling and a bit of bending. It’s like trying to use one hand to put four knives in their proper slots in the knife block at the same time.

I have nuttin’ to add to what Mindude is carryin’ on about except to say “molex” sounds like sump’n you use in the yard to get rid of moles.

gotti , the Wife had that done a couple years back and I remember hearing about the markers then. I thought it was pretty interesting at the time.

Made it to see the head doc, got a NEW presciption and came home to make dinner.

Noogles and sausage. mmmmmm.

Wife’s watching some crap on TV, I’m going to grab a book, the cat and coast to the end of the day.

Tomorrow I get to plant a tree.

yay. (false enthusiasm for having to dig a large hole)

MBG could you repeat that again, please. I’m not sure I understood. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mr. Lissar doesn’t want me to run around screaming it, but I’m pretty sure I’m pregnant. Awaiting a second test tomorrow, and in the very very early stages. Everyone think good, calming thoughts.

Good, calming thoughts bein’ thunk for ya LiLi.

**Happy B-day, Meli! ** I’d been meaning to post this, but I kept forgetting… :o

**LiLi ** - yay…

I think we finally made the last purchase for our bathroom - a new toilet seat (the one that came with the toilet is el-sucko) and blinds for the bathroom window. This time tomorrow, we should be in our own bedroom once again. Huzzah!!

CalmCalmCalm[sub][sub][sub][sub]WooHoo![/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]

I’m out of generic nyquil, so I’m taking the box-o-wine cure. Not the whole box - just a glass. For medicinal purposes, only, of course. Really.

Silly bear.

I have to dig a tree sized hole for a tree, give the cat some noogles, watch the Wife eat sausage on the TV, then crap.

Or something.

I got some Ambien too. It came with the lecture from the doc about taking it aand going directly to bed so I don’t do weird things or lose my memory or do weird things.

Like repeat myself.

(Kidding, I have not taken it yet)

Good, calming, quiet thoughts. Sshhhh.

But I can run around screaming very quietly, right? Yay! Hope it’s true! That would be soooo cool!!! We now return to your quiet, calm, normal MMP.

Took a nap. That felt good. I’ll probably go back to sleep again soon, cuz I’m seriously sleep-deprived.

Sorry to hear about the job suckage, Taters. You definitely need to find something new. Hope an opportunity turns up soon. You deserve a much better situation.

Prayers and good thoughts headed out for your mom, gotti.

Hugs and good thoughts to all…Going back to sleep, I think. Hope I’m not coming down with something.

Nice, calming thoughts for** LiLi**. Yay!

I mentioned yesterday, I think, that I’m knitting with Karaoke. Well. It has issues. I won’t bore you with them, but suffice to say, this is what I looked like while attempting to use it:    Unless your name is Eisako Noro, I expect nothing less than perfection for freaking $9 a skein. Noro is beautiful, and I can forgive beauty quite a lot. But the merely pretty had better work. All I can guess is that someone at the mill hit the sauce early that day.

ooh my! calming thoughts being sent your way, Lili!

Sorry you’re still feeling ill, FCM - I am as well. :frowning: My sinuses were so congested earlier that I went to the fridge, got the bottle of horseradish and fed myself two teaspoons of it! Don’t laugh, though, because it -did- open up my sinuses. I’ll have some tea with lemon & honey later on; just drinking water to keep myself hydrated for now.

I don’t know why, but I couldn’t get to SDMB this morning, and then this afternoon the boards were down to try to fix a problem, so that’s why I haven’t been around. Here’s a bit of a story; it’s not really that interesting, but it is a bit strange. I used to role play in online roleplaying games - mushes (multi-user shared environments, text-based), and on one Star Trek game I played a Bajoran character named Taban Shala. A name that I totally made up in my head, btw. Yesterday, on a whim, I decided to google “Taban Shala” and found to my surprise that someone has been using that name on a game called (I think) Legends. What are the chances that someone else would think up the same name as I did? Miniscule, probably, which means that it’s probably someone who “knew” the name from that Star Trek game. It was really bizarre; it’s not like I had a copywrite on the name, mind you, but geeze louise, it was my creation.

I’ll also share with you one of my other favorite web sites:Roadfood.com This is a really cool site, with a bunch of forums related to all sorts of foods, mostly restaurants found while traveling, but there are also recipes shared by others on the site. Good people too; I’ve met up with them for “site visits” (for crabcakes - we’ve been to G & M in Linthicum, they’re great!) a couple of times. Anyways, I read a couple of foodie columns in online newspapers as well, and turns out that one of the columnists is also a “roadfoodie!” She and her husband are on the road right now, trying out several places that they found through roadfood.com! Check out the site; I love it, and the Sterns (Jane and Michael) are cool folks.

Have to laugh; I’m usually such a lurker and don’t post much, but guess I just must have felt the need to share tonight. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Good thoughts and vibes being sent to those in need, get well thoughts too.

Ooh, is that a Jane and Michael Stern webpage? They’re awesome! I’ve bookmarked it.

I’m going to do a second test tomorrow, and book a doctor’s appointment for next week. I’m sure I’m pregnant, I’m just having horrifying it’s-very-early-still-what-if-something-happens thoughts. I’m told six weeks is the normal extreme danger of miscarriage endpoint, and that will be in a month or three weeks.
This is a normal biological function. Everything will be fine.

At least I won’t be very pregnant in the heat of summer. It’s good planning.

Everyone pray and send good thoughts. Don’t worry. You’ll all be kept [del]bored to death[/del] updated.

Good thoughts to those who need them.

What a lovely night! I just got back from a nice hour long walk around the neighborhood. It was beautiful, warm, with a nice breeze, and everything smells so good, plus the sky was all pink and red, and there’s a half moon. I did notice, since everyone had their windows/doors open, that some people’s TV’s are HUGE, so I have to wonder how they wedged them into the house. My neighborhood consists primarily of 1920s bungalows. I believe in real estate parlance, they’re “precious,” “adorable” and “quaint.” Tiny, probably out of code, no garage, on street parking, and not tear downs, since it’s a historic neighborhood.

ZOMGTHATISWONDERFULSQUEEEEEEEEEE cough I mean, calm. Calm, calm thoughts.

FCM, wine heals all ills. And contains truth in it to boot.

Off to bed - have day of shopping planned with Scottish Darling tomorrow. Night night~
