I’m sitting here waiting to see if a sub job pops up and so I thought I’d start the MMP. To be honest, if a job hasn’t appeared by now, I really don’t want to work. I prefer to get one the night before so that I can be well prepared. Oh well. I guess I’ll go assemble breakfast and wait a little bit longer.
They say that good things come to those who wait, right?
What are you waiting for today?
ETA: I am totally waiting for this weekend when RT comes home. He’ll be off with his kids for a couple of days, but then he’ll be here with me and my family for Christmas. Yay!!!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a frosty 31 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 61 for the day which is Wintry for down heah.
StickyBuns hope you get a sub gig, or not. Depends on what you want.
Ok, now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Tonight is men’s night over to the church house so I got that to look forward to at least.
Yeah, I don’t mind the actual work. It’s the lack of mental preparation. I get kind of wigged out if I don’t have time to figure out which school it is, how to get there, etc… Still nothing. That’s ok, though, that just makes this clean the house day. And also, celebrate the Bubster’s birthday.*
*It’s just by coincidence that I happened to see the little sticky note that has the dog’s birthdays listed and saw that his birthday is today.
It’s a chilly 35 degrees today with a projected high of 32, which doesn’t make sense but who am I to question my weather app?
What am I waiting for?
Christmas of course, although I have no idea what we are doing. My niece was going to have us all over to her house but that’s not going to happen now. My mother is refusing to have it here because there is quite simply no room. My other niece always stays at her exes house so all the kids (she has 2 with the ex and 2 with the current and the ex has 1 with his current) can wake up together with all their parents there. You have to love adults who can put aside all the bullshit in order to put the kids first.
I’m waiting for Jan 1 so I can file my taxes and send all the info to the mortgage company and get the hell out of here. The IRS isn’t accepting returns until Jan 31, so I hope I can still file on the 1st.
I am waiting for Firday afternoon so I can officially start my 2 week vacay from irk. It would start Thursday afternoon but stoooopid contracting company called a mandatory meetin’ for 0830 on Firday morning. G-double-RRRR!
Morning all, I was a bad Mumper last week and barely made it over here to read stuff, never mind anything else.
Sticky, I feel for you, I like to get a bit of notice on my temp assignments too, just so that I have time to work out where I’m going and which bit of public transport works best for me.
Today I’m waiting for lunch because I have been invited out to the posh restaurant on the campus conference park with the School of Education where I worked for just over seven months. Tomorrow I will be waiting for Wednesday when I’m meeting a friend for lunchtime coffee. On Thursday I’ll be waiting for lunchtime coffee with a different couple of friends. Then it will be Friday and I’ll be waiting for hometime because I will be walking away from this job!
Of course, by Saturday I’ll have a whole new lot of things to wait for…one of which will be the new temp job I start in January at the Arts & Law Graduate School. Woohoo!
I’m already waiting for it to be time to go home. I called in sick on Friday and there is surprisingly little catch-up to do this morning.
Also, I made three quilts this weekend. They’re not great, but they took about eight hours each, and now I actually have Christmas presents for people.
I’m not really waiting for much at the moment- well, maybe spring, so I can start planting stuff again. I’d settle for some less horrible weather, so I could at least start getting the ground ready for spring, but it’s been so windy lately that I’ve not wanted to go out much- last night the noise kept me up.
I’m also kind of waiting for the caffeine to kick in. Blurf.
I’m waiting another thirty minutes so I can risk going to the Maul to get some…wait a minute. I might want to make sure I know where the Dewey’s Bakery kiosk is.
checks internet

VILE PROFANITY. There isn’t a Dewey’s kiosk at the Maul this year. I’m going to have to mail-order my bribe for Detailed AGM.
Well, at least I had enough sense to check before I went out there.
Let’s start this over: I’m waiting for Wednesday to be over because I’m going to be irking a 10-hour day. This is how I get out of having to go to the totally not mandatory but all the managers are going to get up your butt if you don’t go Christmas party. I only hang out with these people if I’m getting paid for it.
Other than that, I’m about to be off to get my O2 sensor finally replaced once I’m done breakfasting.
I haven’t been around in forever. Sorry. Hope everyone is doing OK. Again Sorry!
Work is batshit crazy or has been hence my absence. Hopefuly get the chance to check in once in a while a bit more in the New Year…holy crap where did October, November and most of December go?
I’m waiting for Quit O’ Clock and for calls from the people I contacted to ask about budgets for the work grandma’s flat needs.
Yesterday I waited to have lunch with Mom, Auntie and Cousin Dee, and to see whether we could “align” re. my renting grandma’s flat. An agreement was reached, I did not roll my eyes when Auntie and Cousin Dee said some completely stupid things, now the idea needs to be sold to the actual owner of said flat. Budgets are being requested.
Tomorrow I shall wait for the first dude who’ll be coming to prepare a budget.
Today there was no frost on my windshield, so I could go to work as soon as I got in the car. Well, I did have to run the wipers for a few swishes to get the dew off. But that’s nothing.
Acording to the port’s weather page, it only got down to 36.5 F last night and is 37 F now. With no wind, that only seems nippy.
The kids will be back today, so I’ll only have one dog sleeping with me tonight. And MY dog doesn’t think she needs to be under the covers. I don’t begrudge Buddy too much, though, because he has very short hair and his belly is nearly bare. He obviously gets cold. And he curls up by my legs, radiating heat and staying mostly still.
sigh… the old iMac is still kaput. Starting to think it’s had a fatal hardware failure as I can’t get it to boot from anything and it doesn’t make the usual startup sound.
Guess I should give it a good funeral. I’ve never had a home computer last for seven and a half years in daily use.
Is it the flat screen G-5? They have a manufacturing flaw that fries the motherboard. I had one mb replaced, that went south too. I had to replace the whole thing after that. They can tranfer the data to a new machine, or you can have the hard drive taken out and firewired to use as an external.
(AS HAS ALREADY BEEN NOTED) I’m sure you know but if you didn’t - go online and buy an exterior hard drive case. Then disassemble your faithful old friend and pull the drive. Place it in case and thus you lose no data.
Waiting. Waiting to go to work, had my shift moved later this week to cover a nightside vacationer. Actually quite happy about that. I like late shift.
Other than that pretty quiet here.
Never dealt with gall bladder but I’ve had dozens of kidneystones. Indeed working on a pair right now.
Fortunately my body is used to them and they move along (usually) with little notice - the biggest problem being the feeling that I have to pee when I don’t really need to at night. That’s because a stone is banging around in the bladder, irritating it. Once it finally comes out that problem goes away.
