When I am alone I almost always. . . no, come to think of it it is always, sleep with the TV on. I cannot even count the number of times I have seen every Futurama episode (or at least the beginnings of them).
Mork - My current (3 year old) board is an MSI, which I have had no issues with at all, and the one that is coming (in fact should be sitting at the apartment complex office for me to pick up right now) is an ASUS. I have heard naught but praise for ASUS boards but I always avoided them before because there usually was a $30-$50 price difference between the ASUS and equivilent board of another brand. But this time I can afford the extra for assurance of quaility (knock on wood).
Phew! I am just coming up for air and will be going down for the count in a minute. Okay, well it only seems that way.
mbg, it certainly sounds to me like “Mom” is parroting exactly what she heard as a child. No excuse, but it happens commonly enough. Someone needs to tell her that these days the neighbors could care less.
My sweetie brought me some soup. It was good. I still feel like crap. I canceled our sales appointment for this evening. In a little bit, I’m going to have another slug of generic nyquil then crawl under the covers. So, will I be going to work tomorrow? That is the question…
It’s hot. I made it through work, had a bit of an asthma attack taking out the trash. Dinner tonight is burgers and salad. Sadly, I have no **N.O.T.**s.
How did the interview go Drae? Has Winston molested the Man of Steel yet?
Hmmmmmmmm… I think the water po-lice were just next door. They were watering like mad over there and a Sheriff’s partol car pulled up in their drive. How do I know this, you ask? I was standing at the window in my breakfast nook and saw 'em pull up. Anywho, they left and the sprinklers got turned off right after. I am not nosy… I just happened to be there cause I had just come out of my laundry room which is just off my breakfast nook. Really. I swear. I don’t spy on my neighbors. Nope. Not me. [sub]Where’s an angel smiley when you need one![/sub]
MBG, that is so sad about your friend’s daughter. It’s a shame her mom isn’t a little bit concerned about her daughter instead of worrying about “what the neighbors will think”.
Parents like that make me want to puke.
That mom is obnoxious. Girls have been getting pregnant at the worst times since the dawn of history, and probably before. I liked my oh-so-proper Texan grandmother’s attitude better: She had no problem with pre-wedding pregnancies, she just wanted the weddings to happen soon enough to preserve public dignity. But I hope someone gives that mom a whomp upside the head. She needs it.
Speaking of puke, SCL reminded me of last night’s highlight. At 4:00 a.m., I was rudely awakened by Emily standing at my chest level on my left side, facing across my body: “Hack…hack…HOOOOORK!” Yes, she proceeded to hork right straight across my chest. (At least I had the blanket pulled up so it didn’t land on me directly!) There’s not much I prefer to cleaning up cat hork from my sleeping place at 4:00 a.m. :dubious:
Murphy’s law is holding true. The short jobs with long deadlines? End up running shorter than expected, and are incredibly fast and easy to do. The long jobs with short deadlines? Run long, and present a nightmare in one form or another. But I finished up today’s deadline, and am now working on tomorrow’s (8:00 a.m.) deadline (which means it’s actually tonight’s deadline): It’s a congressional circle jerk! That’s right, it’s a congressional hearing in which a bunch of congressmen are sitting there listening to a bunch of other congressmen testify! Windbaggery at its finest!
So admit it, Swampy: You made a sneaky little phone call to snitch on your water-violating neighbor, didn’t you? Huh? Huh?
Let’s go smack that girl’s mom. Has she never heard of being supportive? Being mean and unsupportive isn’t exactly going to make her daughter unpregnant.
I have been springing surprise questions on MOTM. As a result, I have learned a heck of a lot of random stuff about him lately.
I have exciting documents if anyone wants them. Some people have been too excited by them. :smack: Haha.
Good things, mostly. It’s kind of bad in a way, too, though. Mostly because I think I could really get along with him and he’s too far away to date. I’m almost hoping for him to turn out to be a big stupid jerk so that I won’t mind that he’s far away.
And also because nearly all of the guys I like turn out to be big stupid jerks anyway. Barring some notable exceptions who turned out to be better friend than boyfriend material, it’s big stupid jerks all the way down.
Today was fun. I went to lunch with a friend from my old job. Food was ok, service was horrid. Why on earth would it take half an hour to make nachos and a salad? It’s not like they were busy. Anyway, it was nice to see her again. After lunch, I stopped by to see another friend in the office. They are working on their self-assessments for their reviews next month, and asked me for advice. I told them that I made *my *goals for the year, so I have no suggestions.
I had a small “yarn accident” today. There was a sale on the world’s most luscious yarn, and I succumbed. It should be here next week. Meanwhile, I’m knitting with Karaoke again, in a blue/purple/pink/yellow colorway. It’s entrelac, little rectangles that look woven together, which I find entertaining to knit. Plus, the finished project looks impressive.
Good mornin’ y’all! It’s cloudy and warm here. Here’s hopin’ for rain by the afternoon. That means, of course, that I must get my considerable butt in gear and go mow. I need to mow a friend’s lawn plus my own. Mine takes the longest. However I need to wait just a bit cause it’s wet outside still and I do not like to mow wet grass. So, I caffienate some more and maybe in an hour I can go mow friend’s yard, then mine before it rains which it’s supposed to do which means nuttin’ lately.
I was not nekkid in my breakfast nook MBG. One shouldn’t stand around nekkid where one eats, I think. Seems like that’s a rule.
Here’s hopin’ things are still goin’ well for BioRosie.
Whyever not? One seems already to have done the nekkid cooking thing, surely nekkid eating is the next logical step? And given the amount of nekkid stuff you get up to, well, what’s with all the rules?
