God wants Joan to do more household chores, causing her a muli-tasking crisis.
I do hope this episode is better than the washing machine one, although the scene at the end with Adam and Joan and her sprained foot was wonderful, as always.

You know I’ll be there - just a little later tonight.
I have a work thing tonight, and won’t get home till about 8:00-8:30 or so. (I teach Preschool, and tonight is the Dinner for Dads. The kids have made dinner, and they come back and have dinner with their dad. We have to clean up afterwards, so I won’t get home till later.)
I hope I’m home in time to watch it, otherwise I’ll watch the tape. I hate missing the first 10-15 minutes of a show. This one looks like it might be pretty funny.
I also want to watch the premiere of Touching Evil on USA at 9:00. That looks pretty good, too.
Pull my finger.
Didn’t care much for the episode as a whole…too much beating-over-the-head. But I did LOVE the ending. Very very good ending.
I liked the “you suck!” line in the kitchen.
And I loved the ending as well, but they’ll make us wait until the season finale.
When I read that this episode would feature a baby being delivered in an elevator, I was afraid. But they did OK with it. Not as good as the classic “Night Court” episodes featuring babies delivered in elevators, but really, who can aspire to such lofty heights?
Is the honeymoon period already over with this show? This makes the second or third show that’s been below average, as far as I can gather from everyone here.
Synopsis, anyone? Did you tape this, viva? I was at the bar tonight.
I felt so bad for that poor baby!
And I’m left wondering why. Why did that woman hate that baby so much?
Yes, I taped it. I’ll have to fill the tape with other stuff before I send it, though.
Not bad, though it still has that gimmicky feel in some places.
I’d like to see more about Grace and her belated Bat Mitzvah.
The ending was a riot. Does Kevin’s rediscovered talent mean he’s slowly going to regain some sensation?
I loved:
The interaction with Joan and God. She treats him like a teenager would treat a parent.
Grace’s father. He’s so well written.
Joan’s meatloaf recipe.
Seeing Mrs. Girardi teaching. She’s very realistic.
I didn’t love:
The show should make up it’s mind about Kevin. Are they going to let him stay in the wheelchair or make a full recovery? I hope it’s the former because it would be nice to see a disabled character on a show.
The cop in the elevator. If he’s had three kids, shouldn’t he know more about birth?
I thought the same thing about Will…he’s had three kids, why the HELL wasn’t he in the delivery room with Helen? And don’t give me this crap about “I can’t stand to see my wife in pain.” Suck it up, man, she’s pushing your child into the world, the least you can do is let her crush your hand during contractions.
They never explained why the cleaning woman didn’t want the baby, but at least there were law enforcement officials around when she delivered, so she didn’t dump the baby.
I thought this episode was an improvement over last week, although how could Kevin hide the tests from his parents? Unless he’s going to pay the bill (and I would think it’s rather expensive) they’re going to find out.
Unless it’s April 15th, what post office stays open until midnight?
Joan needs a PDA or something to keep track of her responsibilities. I liked how she was able to “let go” of her childhood at the end and smash up her turtle ashtray with her mom.
One more thing…we have two growing kids in our house. A half-gallon of milk isn’t going to last through breakfast. When we go to the store we always buy five or six gallons, freezing the extras. I think we go through a gallon of milk every two or three days. One gallon of milk isn’t going to cut it.
Grace’s father…he’s so patient. Why did Grace turn out the way she did?
Is that Goth God? Really cool! I liked how Joan kept mistaking people at Cafe Ennui for God. She’s really confusing Adam.
I’m glad God made Joan step up to take on more and help her mom out. I liked how they handled the Pull My Finger scene…Joan and her dad were grossed out, and only Kevin and Luke understood the significance of Kevin feeling that he needed to fart. It was gross and funny and thrilling all at the same time. Although when Helen came home and walked behind Kevin’s chair, it would have been a nice touch if she had waved her hand in front of her face at the smell.
Repeat next week.
I missed it. Could someone, please give a recap ?
Thanks.
Didn’t Joan end up buying a whole gallon? I think she said something about getting a half-gallon, but then sighed, and told Grace to get her a gallon. Ivylass, we’re the same way. I buy milk two gallons at a time, and it lasts about three days. I’ve never frozen it, though (I didn’t even know you could do that - don’t the containers break?). I don’t know if I would even have room for it - the damn freezer is full of waffles and Toaster Strudels and Bagel Bites.
Loved how she got snippy with everyone at the coffeehouse, mistaking them for God.
I think if Kevin has a job, he more than likely has his own health insurance. Would that cover a test like he had, if it was elective? He probably could hide it from his parents, if he has his own coverage.
So, if he can feel that he has gas, I suppose that means he’s getting some feeling back, right? I, too, would hate to see him miraculously “cured.” I don’t think I like where this plotline is headed… although my 7-year-old son loved the whole “pull my finger” bit.
I also like Grace’s father. He’s a great addition. ;j I like how she always interrupts his dinner.
Biblio you can freeze milk, but you have to make sure it is completely thawed before you use it, otherwise it tastes watery. It takes about 24 hours to completely that a gallon. Oh, and don’t freak if the frozen milk turns yellow…it goes away when it thaws.
I’m not sure Kevin’s health insurance would cover his paralysis, as it is a pre-existing condition.
I also really don’t want him cured. That’s too pat.
When I had my son his father elected to not be in the room. He had a hard time just sitting with me even before I delivered because the IV was making him queasy. He passes out at the sight of needles/blood and thought it would be unfair of him to take the doctor’s attention from me and our son. I had my mother, my sister, a friend, a doctor, and two nurses. He didn’t really need to be there anyway.
Why didn’t Will just take the cuffs off the prisoner? It’s not like that wimp was going to beat up two cops and snatch their guns.
…and a cool scene…Joan’s cell phone showing ‘GOD’ as the caller.
It’s against the rules for most cops to allow a suspect in custody to remain un-cuffed.
