Job App in PDF

Is there any way to edit this guy or am I expected to print it and scribble on it with my crayons?

To much graphics to scan to Word, it makes it a picture.
That Russian guy wrote an app, but we ain’t allowed to discuss illegal stuff here.

It’s not a print-out-and-fax-back deal? My most recent job app was like that.

Who has a typewriter?

If you’re on a Mac, use the shareware Print2Pict driver and print to file. Then you can open and select and copy out all the text, paste it into another application, and fill it out.

Try clicking on the outlined “T” at the bottom of the left-hand toolbar. You might have some luck there, unless the PDF has been password-protected for editing.

To edit text in a PDF file, you need the full version of Adobe Acrobat, as opposed to the shareware (or is it freeware?) Acrobat Reader.

With Acrobat, you can load in the PDF and then use the text select tool to make edits.

Correct. I have the full version…

Apparently it is protected so that it can’t be changed. We have Adobe Acrobat 5.0.
What kind of moron makes an application that you can’t edit?

The kind of moron that wants a hand-written printed copy, unfortunately. Seems pretty common. And irritating.

Adobe will tell you the security settings on the file. All you have to do is ask nicely.

If that doesn’t work, go to File --> Document Securty --> Display Settings. Check out the Form Field Fill In and Signing. If that’s allowed, you’ll need to click in the field in order to complete it.

Ha! “Free Text Tool”!

Thanks, all.

Form Fill In and Signing is allowed, but when I click the little hand makes an obscene gesture.

Acrobat has a text selection tool. You use that to copy text then copy to some word doc
& add your own info.

You can get PDF writer, its shareware probably at download.com Prints your doc as PDF.

But the format isn’t retained, so it is no longer their application.
The text function we found works well if it is laborious.
Thanks again, all
