Wrong!

The master bedroom was the prize in the underwear game, which Kip won (or, “won”). The prize in the hooker game was immunity only.
Great show… the 2nd time was tonight :D. Really enjoying it. Me and my friend speculated that it would be cool if Matt was an actor, but I don’t buy it. As stated before, you don’t fool the audience. You have the audience in on the joke.

I like the idea that Matt is an actor. The joke would be on the audience, not Matt. It could signal the end to reality TV as we know it, in that we could never be sure on any reality show ever again if the contestants were real or just actors. We’d have to satisfy our need for a voyeuristic thrill elsewhere.

Having said that, I’ve watched the first two episodes and I am not convinced. The actors keep messing up and are playing over-the-top cliches, but if Matt really believes he is on a reality show, the idea that the other contestants are really actors would be far from his mind.

I suspected Matt was an actor about 10 minutes into the first show. Personally, however, I’d like to believe that he is unware of what is going on. It would make for a much better show.

But, there are some things that stike me as odd:

-In last nights episode, both Matt and Earl, at seperate times and places, refered to Earls feet as having “jungle rot”. Is this such a common term that both of them would use it individually? Or is this a slip-up by the not-so-unique writers?

-When do the actors meet in the trailer to discuss the “plot”? Early morning? Mid-day? Does Matt not notice that everyone in the house is gone except for him?

I thought it was pretty clear that he quit the hooker game so suddenly because he was getting an erection and was embarrassed, especially standing right next to Hutch, who would for sure announce it to everyone. Matt said as much in the “interview,” about how things were “rising” and he was trying to think about Rosie and baseball…I don’t think Matt’s an actor, yet.

He’s too outspoken and willing to jump right in there NOT to be in on it.

He went along with the shrink, took the master bedroom without feeling bad, makes hutch feel threatened, doesn’t want to be in on the Gina vote. Also, if they wanted to avoid him being the first out of that game all they needed to do was have the prude refuse to play. Next week he’ll be crying. He’s playing them!

I can only hope that it’s to trick the other “actors” and not JUST the audience. What an awesome concept. hahahaha

They have their meetings in the morning while Matt is giving his interview for the camera about the previous day’s events. He doesn’t know they’re gone. (On the assumption the show is on the level, which I’m hoping is the case.)

I didn’t think Matt was an actor until I read this thread, but I had a difficult time with the contest:

He took his hand off the porn star’s breast in something like less than a minute.

I thought that was remarkable, because there doesn’t seem to be any sane reason for doing that. While watching it, I noticed that the producer’s “shocked look” looked fake, but I still believed it at the time.

After reading this thread, I now think that with so much that could have possibly wrong (with a real dupe), I don’t think the producers would risk it. Better to fake out the actors who already know the producers are duplicitous because they can’t really argue that it was unfair.

Also, no one would be stupid enough to believe the old guy’s lame “recovery” after the underwear blunder.

someday somebody has to teach how to make one of those cool ass spoiler boxes.

It’s just like a bold or italic tag, but you use spoiler, /spoiler instead.

I was hypnotized by this show! Yesterday Spike TV showed all 3 hours that have aired in a marathon, and I absolutely loved it! It’s an interesting idea that he might be an actor - he certainly seems confidant and at ease doing crazy things for the camera. But either way, I think it’s brilliant! I was shocked at the tears flowing at the ouster of Earl the Veteran They certainly seemed genuine on everyone’s part. Now I have to find out how they handle the rest of the contest! Everyone was all concerned about carrying the game too far and should we stop it. Now I’m going to have to tape the rest of the series. It’s nicely ironic that I got a call during Earl the Veteran’s ouster and had to tape it while I took the call, and it was tagged on the end of last week’s Survivor tape!

Anyone know how long this show is supposed to last?

Okay, why didn’t the producers of Joe Schmo think of this?

In the last episode when Matt body slammed Dr. Pat, and then gave her the vacation to Colorado as restitution, the producers threw a curveball by saying that the winner of the vacation would also get 25K, but that that cast member would have to leave the house immediately. That was obviously added in at the last minute to act as a dig at Matt, as if to say, “Look what you passed up.” But after that, they still read the votes, and it would have been Hutch that was voted out of the house. What they should’ve done is make it Matt who would’ve gotten voted out of the house. It would have been genius to see the range of emotions that Matt would’ve gone through in working it out in his head: “I just passed up 25K. Thank god Dr. Pat left. I was almost voted out. Who the Hell voted for me?”

It would have been interesting, but what excuse would they have given to matt for voting for him? EVERYBODY seems to like him on the show, maybe a little to much.

I really like the show and the premise, but some of the things they do and the way they do them are just so odd and over the top. All the actors seem to over act their roles. The gay guy is REALLY gay. The ass is more of an ass than any normal ass would be. The bitch…well you get the idea. I’m thinking if it were on a network (in which case, I wouldn’t be watching it) it would probably be done “better”. Then again, its kind of making fun of all the other “Survivor” type shows and they probably don’t want the fans of those shows to know how stupid they (the shows, not the people watching) are.
