They did call him “Danny from the last movie” once.
Yep.
I think they just copied the original show as much as possible. I like the breaks.

…I must have missed that. :o
So has anyone else tried to figure out what the compressed rooms are behind each door? I’ve got:
6: Laundry room (with folded yellow jumpsuits)
5: Bathroom
4: Kitchen? Though I’m not sure what the glass cylinders on the left side are supposed to be.
3: Bunkroom
2: Office, though it includes a giant spinning buzz saw blade.
1: Workshop, complete with spare Crow head.
I love that the Mad’s inventions for the exchange were stolen ideas from comments made by the bots and Jonah.
I had noticed the Salsa Sombrero, but not the others.
When did Crow say, “Elder Pump”???
Yes, I thought that was cool, too. A lot of the inventions have been…less than impressive, but this made them better.
I’ve always appreciated that traditionally they haven’t always jumped on these obviously, easy references immediately.
Of course, the glowing example is in the MST3K movie where they showed remarkable restraint with the Gilligan’s Island references.
The Loves of Hercules was too boring to be all that much fun for an episode. Starcrash might be bad, but it was gloriously hilarious. This year’s Hercules movie was just a dull watch. Poor choice for a movie to be on the show.
“What’s all this ‘and the rest’ crap??”
And his coffin will be made entirely of coconuts - thank you!
Finally got to *The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t *and loved it - lots of big laughs from me. Such a bizarre movie, fantastically riffed.
Only one more new one left
Must… savor…
Just got finished with The Land That Time Forgot, which I think might have been my favorite so far. “Zat robo-squid vill be a fine soldier for ze Kaiser! Once it stops killing us.”
This line from Avalanche reduced me to tears of laughter:
<<on screen a search party is shown using long poles to poke into the snow>>
“Now, you want to stab hard enough so you know for sure there’s a person under there, but not so hard that you completely impale them.”
The Moon 14 Dinosaur Cuisine sketch is the funniest bit in the entire season.
“Never shoulda tampered in God’s domain… Moo-oon 14.”
[hijack]This thread illustrates what I dislike about the Netflix/Amazon/etc. “release all the episodes at once” model - it makes it next to impossible to discuss the show in depth with anyone else.[/hijack]
That tune seems awfully familiar … driving me crazy. What is it?
There’s a joke in Wizards of the Lost Kingdom II that references Cry Wilderness, as well - when the kid in the wizard movie gets a magic amulet, one of the guys quips, “Now he can talk to Bigfoot!”
Agreed; I really prefer Hulu’s model.
I recognized him immediately from his role as the drunken waiter in “The Party.” And I know his face and voice from countless TV guest appearances in the 1970s and '80s.
Carnival Magic was a bit of a dull one, though they did do their best to make it funny.
I can’t believe I only have 2 more to go. We better get a new season next year!
Has anyone transcribed the Hybrid B-Movies crawl from “Avalanche”?
And yes I am very disappointed that the appearance of Steve Franken in two consecutive movies was not seized on for a good riff or two.
