Okay, I’m sorry. I really am. This is quite possible the most mundane and redundant thread ever posted on the SDMB. But you see…I’ve got this question that’s absolutely bugging the shit out of me and so help me God I need an answer.
According to the Internet Movie Database John C. Mcginley (also known as Dr Cox from ‘Scrubs’) played a character called “California” in the movie Seven.
Now, I’ve seen Seven about three thousand times and not once have I ever seen hide or hair of this character.
Could anyone tell me what this “California” dude does in the movie, and maybe what he looks like? I’m seriously being driven bugfuck insane here.
McGinley is front and center on, IIRC, the raid on Sloth’s house, but the one time I remember Freeman actually referring to him by name is when he’s talking to him on the radio during John Doe’s last stand. California is in the helicopter with the sniper rifle. I don’t remember any lines of distinction he has.
I seem to remember him being in the helicopter at the end and after the great unfortunateness, made a few comments over the radio, “Somebody call someone” being the one I remember the most.
Usually not under the cast list, but it can appear elsewhere, like when Orlando Jones was cut almost completely from Magnolia* (nothing that remained couldn’t have been handled by a body double) and got a Special Thanks instead.
Unless it’s a movie within a movie.* All of Gillian Anderson’s scenes were cut from Tristram Shandy, but not from Tristram Shandy. So she got to complain about having all her scenes cut, AND be in the credits!
Yes, if it’s a speaking part, though a credit can be waived (or in the case of Judson Scott, fumbled away). Naked Gun 33 1/3 had credits for “PEOPLE WHO WERE CUT OUT OF THE MOVIE, BUT IT WASN’T THEIR FAULT”.
