John Dowland Galliard for one lute, four hands

Hallo! Hope there are some early music enthusiasts out there who can help – have been tearing the place apart looking for a John and Robert Dowland galliard written to be played on one lute by two people (or as my music teacher puts it, ‘You know, the lech galliard.’)

If anyone can remember the exact title it would be terrific – anyone who knows where I can find a copy, as my long-ago copy has vanished, will receive lots of praise

Thanks so much!

cheers,
Ms Boods

Okay, I did a bit of googling on this – the piece you want is “My Lord Chamberlain His Galliard.” It was published in Thomas Morley’s First Booke of Consort Lessons.

Thanks for the quick response! That’s what I needed was a specific title cos I was googling like mad, and getting a million hits with the key words – with your title info was able to find a PDF of the music

if anyone else is interested.
Thanks so much

Although now I’ll have to play it with my teacher for one of his intro master classes
