Then he’s already a Republican. And that’s why we have terms like “DINO” and “RINO”; you can pretty much count that person in the other side’s camp for purposes of what majority each party has. Just call him a Republican right now.
Speaking of Pennsylvania Senators, I remember perhaps 15 or so years ago when Senator Arlen Spector switched from Republican to Democrat. Republicans of my acquaintance were apoplectic. They didn’t like him anyway but this was just too much. Funny thing was, Democrats didn’t like him either.
Should Fetterman cross that line officially or unofficially, I’ll feel he was elected under false pretenses. He’s already pissed me off enough as it is.

Eh, don’t make the mistake of thinking all hawks are Republicans, you’ve always been able find them in the Democratic Party as well. For example Hillary Clinton was notoriously hawkish (Zunes of course has his biases coming from the dovish and academic left, but the I think the criticism was valid however much the other choice in that election was infinitely worse). Fetterman might well be a “DINO”, however defined. But being a foreign-policy hawk probably doesn’t qualify him as one.
I know there have been war-hawks in the Dem camp, but they don’t tend to vote with the Repubs. Vote with Repubs? CHECK War-hawk? CHECK
I know he hasn’t voted completely lock-step with the Repubs, but it’s swinging that way.

Fetterman’s approval rating with Democrats are historically abysmal for a sitting Democratic senator. Even worse than Sinema at her lowest. He will never win as a Democrat again (hopefully not as anything else either).

I have MAGA friends who love this guy. I keep telling them he’s one stroke away from being brain damaged enough to be a Trump voter.

I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but: my maga brother-in-law posted on Facebook a while back that Fetterman (“the guy that had a stroke,” as he put it) is the only Democrat that makes any sense. I told him that’s not the own he thinks it is. Quite the opposite, in fact.

There’s no chance he’ll ever win again. Even if he officially becomes a Republican and runs in the Republican primary, he’d lose to any halfway competent lifelong Republican who could run their campaign on a “why would you vote for this carpetbagger” strategy and win easily. He’s done for.
