John Hughes Syndrome.... spread the word!

I’ve been a bit snarky during the past few days when people have talked about that abomination of a show, so perhaps I should respond. I like lots of popular things: Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Conan O’Brien, the Beatles, Queen, Mexican food… I could go on for pages, but what’s the point? The reason I hate Friends is that I’ve gotten more entertainment cutting my toenails than I have watching the few episodes of that show forced onto me by social courtesy. And I mean, this is the SDMB. If it were devoid of snarkiness, it wouldn’t be a very fitting tribute to Cecil, now would it?

Ya think? By way of the IMBD voting, 8,159 people thought it was a “1”.

Out of 220 voted titles, I’ve given three "1"s: Manos: The Hands of Fate (non MST3K version), Baby Geniuses and The Object of My Affection.

Of those 8,159 people, I wonder how many of them gave the film a “1” on their own, and not from some lame media backlash? Was it the best film of all time? 'Course not. Was it the worst? Get real.

As an aside, I’ve always found the best way to get an accurate read from IMDB polling was to drop the "10"s and the "1"s.

John Hughes had nothing to do with Say Anything. Cameron Crowe wrote and directed it.

[tangent]
In college, a friend of a friend refused to watch SA because Lloyd was a kick boxer and she didn’t approve of violent sports. She eventually relented and watched it, but it took at least a year. And enjoyed it!
