Buyer not disclosed. Biggest price for a guitar that I know of, acoustic like this or electric. Also says a drumhead used by Ringo on the Ed Sullivan show sold for $2.1 million. Sheesh!

Why oh why?

I watched an hour long documentary on Magical Mystery Tour last night, the one with Martin Scorcesi. They were so, so happy at the end of '67. I really enjoyed that for them. Just a bunch of mates larking around having a brilliant laugh.

Artistically, culturally, politically, musically - any of them, at all, never mind the world wide glare, I don’t understand how you get from ‘Love Me Do’ to the psychedelic confidence of MMT in 4 1/2 years.

The journey that confirms an alien rate of progression for me is actually ‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand’ to ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ - Oct '63 to April '66. 30 months: not humanly possible!

“Tell Me Why” would have been a better line.

Surely George’s guitar is doing more than gently weeping now.

He’s known for a few. Fortunately, many are in possession of his wife and son Dhani like his early Gretsches and Rickenbackers, painted Strat and Rosewood Tele. In an earlier thread, I discussed how Colts owner Jim Irsay owns a Gibson SG used by Harrison and Lennon mostly on the White Album.
