Kerry was proud of his antiwar activities, but even he had to understand that these may have had effects beyond what he sought at the time. Was this worthy of debate, especially in a presidential race? You bet. Was Bud Day worthy to make this argument? Well, he was there at the time and had to maintain order and morale in the camp - his opinion was worth listening to.

His opinion about what? That John Kerry perjured himself before Congress? That John Kerry was complicit by his statements in the deaths and murders of American soldiers and POWs? That John Kerry was an insurrectionist and traitor? John Kerry’s statements were about his own experiences. Bud Day was not there to know one way or the other, and certainly not to level those kinds of accusations. His opinions about them are worthless.

Look at it this way. Every dollar they give to McCain is a dollar they can’t use in a 527 to smear Obama.

Yep, McCain can use their money for good works.

This is reminiscent of the argument Ron Paul used when explaining why he wouldn’t return a donation from the founder of Stormfront.
