Is it a water heater?
Seriously, like other have said it looks like something I could have done in mechanical drafting 101.
And why does it look like a sketch?
I’d think they’d still have AutoCad around in 2036 (v.42.0)

Because, presumably, the person finding the answer can produce the original manual/patent application/etc.

For example, if I came across a technical drawing that appeared to be of a laser printer from the mid 1990s and said, “what model printer is this?”, people would be able to find the original manuals (containing the same drawing), and say, “It’s the Hewlett-Packard model 426L, produced from 1996 to 1997 …” Then I could go look for information on the model 426L myself to verify the claim.

Still, not an easy thing to answer, which is why it’s still being debated 4 years later.
