Johnny A - surfer guitar

A friend of mine turned me on to Johnny A. He’s a guitarist who has kind of a surfer guitar sound to him. Have any of you heard of him? He does of cover of the Beatles “Yes It Is” that is beautiful. I think he may be more of a local act (originally from Boston), but I really enjoy him. Anyone? Anyone?

Guess not, huh? Oh well…

Sorry Kalhoun - I have been out all day.

Johnny A. is a great guitarist. I have heard a couple of tracks off of his album - what the heck is it called - maybe it’s something like “Sometime Tuesday Morning” (I am sure that is wrong, but close enough to find it on Amazon if you use Johnny and Tuesday in your search).

I know he does surfer stuff, but I think he is a session guy or at least a journeyman player who has been around the block a few times. From the tracks I heard, he plays in a bunch of styles.

I have flirted with buying the CD, but held off - if you get it, please send me an email with your thoughts…

Ding-dang, gol-darn blasted connection! I glitched out, then checked on another connection to see if the post was posted, then posted again when I saw it wasn’t - and of course, now I can see that of course I double posted.

Butle-rattin’-poten-tatin’-dag-nabit!

I DO have the CD, Wordman. I’m really impressed with it. No vocals on it at all. He’s established his “voice” through his guitar. And did a fine job at that! I’m very surprised he hasn’t done more up-front work.
