Join the Masons

I’m in my early 20’s, an accountant, and live in the Dallas area. Would there be any advantages for a guy like me to join the Masons, or would I just be hanging out with old peeps?

Out here(Detroit), you don’t find a lot of masons these days that are in your age group. However, the masons have a long history of being a very effective networking organization. All the bullshit conspiracy theories aside, masons do help each other out, and if the craft is fairly active in your area, it could be advantageous to you businesswise. To what degree(no pun intended) it will help you is debatable however.

You have to swear that you are not joining for the reasons of business advancement or personal aggrandizement.

I am in my mid forties and have been a Master Mason for over fifteen years. I am too often the youngest man in Lodge.

That being said. I have rarely met a nicer group of people to hang out with. In addition, the Masonic philosphy is very important to me. Anythning outlawed by Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Franco is OK by me.

I can see few if any business reasons to join a Lodge, but it is very important to me and an important part of my life.

(Did I hlp, or was I just rambling?)

Paul, if you don’t mind me asking, what are the reasons for joining a Lodge then? And do the have them in KSA?

Just so you have all the facts, you will be joining a satanic cult that worships Baphomet. Check out my indisputable cite.

I have it on good authority (the wife of a high ranking mason) that they have sex with a goat at their meetings. This woman was utterly devoid of humor and reported this to me as a fact. Whether you find this a reason to join or not would be a personal decision.

My great-grandfather was a Mason and a Shriner.

I don’t think I’ll be joining, because of the Catholic thing. My great-grandfather came from the Baptist side of the family.

I’m all for fraternal organizations, though younger people, true, don’t tend to join.

Ah, the old goat joke! There’s one in every crowd who takes that one seriously. As for Jack Chick, HA! How come Jack knows so much about Baphomet, and we masons don’t? Maybe he’s the satanist.

Excuse me, but are questioning my cite?

No, not questioning, His4ev…uh…lost4life, rather ignoring.

As the majority of people on this board do with any cite that has to do with Jack Chick.

Oh…you’re taking me seriously…sorry.

For the record, I don’t really use Jack Chick as a cite. Just thought it would be funny. And, if someone responds, how exactly am I being ignored?

Whoosh

My apologies. Seen too many Chick-ites here who did take themselves and their Chick cites seriously.

I got seriously whooshed, I guess.

The reason for joining the Ancient Craft? Fellowship. Meeting with a bunch of guys who are your Brothers. Men who (generally) are above-average in their morality, who reject religious extremism.

In the case of the Shrine, a chance to support a super-duper charity and wear a very funny hat.

I have met Brothers in Saudi Arabia, Panama, the Philippines, Thailand and elsewhere around the world. Isn’t it great to know that should you ever need a friend, you can always find one?

My grandfather is a Mason, and he is a wonderful, funny, intelligent man.

My viewpoint on the Masons then, is that they are a pretty good group of people.
