A cartoon version of this appeared in “Mad Magazine” in the early 60s, and, IIRC, it was already a well known joke by then.
My Dad uses the joke, “Whattya mean ‘we’ white man?” which definitely means it was well-known before 1960.
Another Tonto-Lone Ranger, joke. . .
The duo is riding across the plains. Tonto dismounts and puts his ear to the ground. He stands up and proclaims, “Buffalo come.”
Lone Ranger says, “how do you know?”
Tonto replies, “Ear sticky.”

I thought the punchline was:
“What’s this ‘we’ shit, paleface?”
“What do you want Tonto for anyway?”
“To perform an unnatural act.”
“What?”
“You heard me: to perform an unnatural act.”
“The Mask Man is a fag! God-damn! The Mask Man is a fag! The masked Fag Man! Oh, Lord! I’m getting dizzy … .”
Are you quoting a cartoon from decades ago? I saw that in the seventies, and practically pissed my pants I was laughing so hard.
“And give me that horse, too.”

Actually, it’s from a Lenny Bruce skit, though they did take part of that skit (“fun with real audio”) and created some animation for it. It did a run on the Spike & Mike touring Animation festival for a few years.
