My friend was sure there was a movie Angelina Jolie was in that was modeled after some cartoon and she had orange hair in it. Can anyone help me help my friend?
Almost certainly not the answer you are looking for, but she was the voice of Master Tigress in Kung Fu Panda.
Tigers do have orange hair.
However, it was a cartoon which she played in, not a movie which she played in based on a cartoon.
“Wanted” was a comic book adaptation, but she was a brunette.
In “Beowulf” she voiced a photo-realistic CGI Angelina, but her hair was also dark.
“Tomb Raider” was originally a video game, but again, no orange hair.
In fact, I can only think of “Life or something like it” as a movie where Angelina’s hair was dyed, but that was Marylin-white.
Perhaps your friend is confusing her with Milla Jovovich as Leeloo in The 5th Element. I don’t think it’s based on a comic, but it has a bit of that look to it and Leeloo has orange hair.
It could be argued that it was modeled after Heavy Metal, which is a cartoon. (OP said cartoon, not comic.)
Based on several stories of he comic with the same name, wich was at the same time an American version of popular French sci-fi comic Metal Hurlant, which was the basic inspiration for Fifth Element.
I don’t know how the hell you could confuse Angelina Jolie with Milla Jovovitch, but I thought of the 5th Element too.
Could it be Shark Tale?
He did mention fifth element (I am not a move person so don’t know movies). I will tell him he was thinking of Milla.
It has specifically been accused of having been ripped off from the Incal series of works by Jodorowsky and Moebius. While those two lost their lawsuit against Besson, I frankly have to agree that the Black Incal et al seems to have been a major influence on the movie. Which I love, by the way.
Which I find strange, since Moebius, under is real name of Jean Giraud(scroll down to look into the art department credits) was involved with the movie.
Probably by remembering the JO part of the last name, and not much else.
