Hello all,
My friend’s firewall says he’s being attacked by my computer (we checked the IP) by the Jolt2 DoS. I’ve looked for patches under XP but can’t seem to find anything. It only goes up to Win 2000. Prehaps the firewall is misnaming the DoS attack? If so what would your suggestions be? Thanks!
Jolt2 is an exploit of the fragmented IP packets vulnerability. The Bugtraq is here: http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/1236/info/

I’m not sure why your computer would be shown as the attacker. Are you both on the same network?
Yes, we live in a dorm together. I understand what Jolt2 is and does, but I can’t seem to find a fix or patch under XP. I’ve already installed SP1a. Unless maybe one of the options in the link you provided will also work for XP pro
Well, if your machine is actually doing this, then patching is a little late. You can’t firewall your ports after the trojan’s been executed! (Bwahaha! Haha! Ha! I slay me.)
Try running an antivirus program, like Grisoft’s AVG or something.
