Jonatha Brooke , Inconsolable

I heard the live version of this probably ten years or more ago on the local public radio Saturday night show. I liked it enough to search out the CD online.

So she’s done it again recently, sounds good.

I bought the Plumb album (on cassette!) when it came out after discovering it at a record store listening station. I couldn’t find it on CD until recently. It’s a really great album. I love her voice. Thanks for the link.

Thanks, I just loved her earlier band The Story, and I always have her song Steady Pull with me (off the album with the same name)…

This one (off of Plumb) is my favorite…

“Nothing Sacred”

Wow lovely to see Jonatha mentioned here. I used to know her, but lost touch a while ago. @Equipoise and I interviewed her for Equipoise’s radio show Suspended in Gaffa. Then shortly after that I stood next to Jonatha in line for a Jane Siberry show in NYC. We talked for an hour or so–general admission–mostly about other female artists. Especially Jane and Mary Margaret O’Hara. I bumped into her again at a MMO’H show at the Fez, one of the greatest concert experiences of my life: Victoria Williams and Lou Reed came out of the audience to join her on that tiny stage.

My favorite song by the Story will always be Dog Dreams.

My favorite is Last Innocent Year. Kinda dreamy/trippy.
