Hey, glad to share stuff like this. I’ve listened to very little of her work, mostly tracks that got airplay in the 1980s (WXRT), and this moved me deeply.

It never ceases to amaze me just how incredibly talented she is.
Sadly, she did not perform at Woodstock. Her manager urged her not to go. He was afraid she might miss her scheduled appearance on the Dick Cavett Show the following Monday if she went. Bad call.
A friend of mine was in high school in Saskatoon with Joni. He told me that at a grad party, he was sitting next to her at a pool and asked what her plans were. She said that she was going to travel with her guitar and sing. He thought to himself “Oh Joni, I hope you’ve got a back-up plan.”
When he was telling this to me, he grinned and said, “Boy, was I wrong!”
