Keeping one actor playing the same character when the story happens over a great expanse of time is almost always problematic. I just happen to think that it’s especially problematic with Josh Brolin. Unless he’s playing a character that starts as being Brolin aged, then gets older, Josh Brolin shouldn’t play characters that have to age.
[The College Years scenes in the movie W. were just laughable.
I just saw Old Boy. Willing Suspension of Disbelief still won’t allow me to accept him as anything less than 40 at the start of the film.]
Dude just does not have a young guy’s face. He was 17 years old when he filmed The Goonies and he looked 30 way back then.
To whom else should this rule apply?
