I’m 99% sure that if there is a new show just following a few of the Duggars, it still won’t show anything at all wrong with the Quiverfull lifestyle or with their super conservative beliefs. There might be some laughs amongst the girls about how they used to wear such square outfits and have bad hairstyles, but they’ve become more modern while still following God, without mentioning all that their version of following God entails.
Yeah, good luck with that though.
Bwa ha ! He was messing around with Ashley Madison too.
I’m not following it closely, but I believe that in the Ashley Madison thread, the porn star assignation allegation has been described as having some inconsistencies vis a vis Josh’s documented whereabouts on some of the dates in question.
Yeah, she was gifted $1500. Shit, I’d fuck anyone willing to gift me $1000. I’m a bargain!
Any takers*?
- This offer does not apply to Josh Duggar.
Dammit, I was just thinking of using Danika as a baby name…
The Duggars have managed to pretty much destroy the likability of a number of J names. Not that there was much call to name kids Jinger . . .
I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank Josh Duggar for getting most of the GOP presidential field to take selfies with him before all this came to light! Thanks, Josh!
The special has aired now:
Interweaving factual information—such as the reality that 80-90 percent of sexual abuse is committed by someone the child knows and the reality that more children suffer sexual from sexual abuse than cancer or car accidents—with stories of survivors, the show did an excellent job of balancing the difficulty of talking about a subject that’s so taboo with an uplifting message that survivors can move on, be happy, and lead successful lives.
But as strong as some segments of the documentary were, the show featured a Duggar-sized hole that many viewers may not have expected. Jessa, Jill, and Michelle Duggar were featured for a total of about two minutes, but watching them on screen, it felt like TLC was really doing the bare minimum to acknowledge what happened in their household. In fact, if one didn’t know about Josh Duggar’s crimes, watching his sisters (who have been confirmed as his victims) and mother speak would suggest that they were brought onto the show just as celebrity ambassadors, a couple of close-knit family members that just wanted to share the message that childhood sexual abuse was wrong.
I didn’t watch it, but it sounds like a special that would have been good, but it’s very strange to have it and not acknowledge what Josh Duggar did. Also I wonder how many people actually watched it, with it being the end of August, and the Video Music Awards and Fear the Walking Dead being at the same time. Maybe it’s counter-programming, or maybe they put it on when it wouldn’t be noticed. That way they can get credit for putting on a special about the harm sexual assault causes, but try not to remind people about how the channel has given so much money to a damaged and damaging family.
