I ran across this interview with Don Walsh, one of the two guys who journeyed to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in 1960. He discusses being on the project, and the trip.
He mentions the window blowout they had. It was apparently in part of the bathyscape (submarine) that was not their pressure shell, so that is why they continued the dive.
