Surprised me too. Just a couple miles from where I am right now. I saw that he was born in Perth Amboy.
Not as surprising as finding out that Dudley Moore was living in Plainfield NJ at the time of his death.
I’d forgotten how old looking all these actors were in the series. I think they were all mid twenties playing 16 year old high school students in the show. Seems so obvious now in the pictures but we didn’t really notice back then. As a 6th grader any kid in the 12th grade seemed old to me. 
Heck by the time the show ended they were pushing 30. Back then they always cast way old for high school kid parts.
They still do. Case in point: “Glee.”
I was very little watching reruns, but I had such a crush on Epstein.
