I recall seeing somewhere that there is concern that Judaism is dying out or at the least declining is this true? since this is a religious matter I’m putting this in GD. If it isn’t something worth debating would a mod please move it. thanks.
Not sure if there is a debate. Judaism isn’t a prosthelatizing religion-- doesn’t actively recruit members. In fact, conversion is pretty difficult. Intermarriage then does it’s work. So, is Judaism dying out? Well, no, but it’s not surging like Christianity (where you’ll find mass baptisms, for instance). It should be pretty stratinforward to google some stats on exact numbers (are there more or less Jews worldwide now than 10 yrs ago, 20 yrs ago, etc.). But even given the low recruitment rate and intermarriage issues, Judaism is likely to **not[//b] go extinct in any of our leftimes (or our grandchildren). Think how long it’s already been around.
Big difference between dying out and declining. Pretty unlikely it could even die out, hell zoroastrianisms still kicking.
The Jewish religion is in no danger of dying out. While the intermarriage and assimilation rate is high and the birthrate is low amongst the non-religious, the most religious elements of the Jewish population have an extremely high birthrate and a very thorough religious education system. Judaism is well capable of perpetuating itself.
