Why do some threads I revisit not have the tab ‘Go to the first unread post’?
OK, to try to bring some order to all the confusion this has caused among the myriad respondents, here’s some detail. All posts in GQ.

So, is the problem sports related? Based on even-numbered days? Totally arbitrary?
Sample size: small, probably, but I’d had a few.
Distribution: not random.
Yeah, it doesn’t look reliable, but the vB board’s still new, and they probably haven’t got around to seeing whether this is working yet. Seems sturdier than the previous incarnation, so I’m happy to wait.
