June Bugs and Bothers (mini-rant)

You said yourself there was gonna be a bunch of booze. Just make sure you drink enough that you don’t wake up the next morning until the sun is well up and warm. You’ll be fine. :stuck_out_tongue:

I suppose this means you also wouldn’t be interested in taking one of *my *cats, specifically the one who woke me a 4:30 this morning by urinating on my leg. I had to hose myself down, then explain to cwSpouse that he had to get up *right now *so I could strip off the urine-soaked sheets.

This isn’t the first time the cat has pissed on the bed; it’s not even the first time she’s pissed on the bed with me in it (last time, she nailed the spot between my legs, causing me a long moment of panic while I assessed the possibility that *I *had whizzed the bed in my sleep). She’s been to the vet several times to check for UTIs, etc. The vet diagnosed a bladder infection after the first offense, but her urine has been clean since then. The vet thinks she may have a sterile cystitis (i.e. bladder inflammation without bacterial infection), so I suppose we’ll revisit that. She (the cat, not the vet) is already on special “kidney diet” food, so we’ll need to re-assess her kidney function as well.

Stupid fucking cat. It’s the younger, cute, fluffy, friendly attention whore, too. Why can’t it be the crabby bitch I’d *like *to lock out of the bedroom?

People who deeply resent the existence of children and want punish parents for their crotchfruit?
Sociopaths?
Brainless assholes who deserve a good beating?

People who assume that other people have the same casual attitude towards pet ownership as they, themselves, do.

Personally, I’ve always found it impossible to refuse a kitten when it’s staring up at me, saying “Please, can I live with you? PLEASE?”, which is why we have four cats right now.

If I ran across a talking kitten, I’d keep it, too.

Casual pet owners drive me batty. I took an adorable kitten to the humane society that I found wandering outside. When I asked the girl who lived across the way about the cat she told us ‘Mom said we couldn’t keep her so we put her out’. Makes me livid to think it again, the neighbourhood was rife with packs of kids that I could totally see playing ‘games’ with it and we were right beside a major road.

I would have kept her if I could but no pets allowed here. :frowning:

Lol maybe I would at that. When someone mentioned bringing Baileys for the morning coffee I said I had a bottle and what a good way to wake up.. And was teased for thinking I would even get to bed lol.

Two is our limit.

My daughter is more responsible then they are. She cried and returned the poor kitty to his mommy. If I weren’t sitting here glued to the phone trying to find out when my dad is letting my mom off the respirator I’d run down there and yell at them. Damn those assholes for making my daughter hurt even more on the day her granny’s dying. People who don’t neuter their pets should not be allowed to have them. They put over 5,000 cats to sleep last year in NJ alone because of morons like these people.

What, your cats DON’T talk to you? My cats talk. They don’t speak English, for the most part (my Siamese girl can make a vocalization that sounds like “Mama”), but I understand them very well indeed. My orange boy said, just a few minutes ago, that his head was terribly itchy, especially around the ears.

Theoretically, three is our limit. But my husband brought home this last cat. His nephew and family took off on a 10 or 14 day cruise, and left an 8 month old kitty outside, no food or water, to fend for itself until they got back. It was either adopt the little thing or take it to the Humane Society. A week after we adopted her, she went into heat. And yes, she’s spayed now. She has absolutely no interest in going outside, she will not even look out of an open door. She likes to watch the squirrels and birds from the windows, but she’s lived outside, and prefers to have a steady source of food, water, and love.

And those asshole neighbors need a good beating. And they should not be allowed to have any pets at all. Your daughter (and you) don’t need this heartbreak at any time, but especially not today.

Big Dog (who was supposed to be a foster when we got him 18 months ago, but who refuses to go away, to the point that he was halfway home from his last placement when we finally tracked him down… he’d made it 20 miles in the right direction,) had to go to the vet this morning. We thought it was a partial intestinal blockage, but that’s been ruled out. Unfortunately, the vet won’t take payments, and we flat out don’t have the money to pay for all the diagnostic tests. So he may have arthritis, or a broken tail - bad, but not terrible. Or he may have a more serious spinal injury. Basically, if he doesn’t improve by Friday, we have to put him down. It’s not fair to let him suffer, and a bad back on a giant breed may be untreatable with all the money in the world. But we’re so sad and stressed. Maybe the vet that treats the police dogs would let us make payments…

If he has to go, he’s had a good life with us. I have to remember that.

Ah. I never have a chance to see Saturday morning TV.

Yeah, I was just wondering where it came from. It’s not ICHCB but I’m sure there must be many more lolcat sites out there.

I’m thinking these neighbors would be a great place for you to, er, vent? Whatever you did to them wouldn’t be bad enough.

She’s gone. Fuck. Fuck.Fuck. Fuckity fuck fuck.

LavenderBlue I’m so sorry. Sends you more hugs.

So sorry, lavenderblue.

I’m so sorry, LavenderBlue. Whatever else she was, she was still your mother. I had plenty of mixed emotions when my estranged father died suddenly - if it makes you feel even a little bit better, I don’t think there’s an emotion you could have now that isn’t normal for this situation. “Normal” just doesn’t apply.

I’m so sorry. It’s never easy.
