Just curious how drowning a bunch of kids can be considered God's will

So, I presume the folks who ran that camp in Texas are trying to figure out how it was that God saw fit to drown a bunch of little kids. They were at a Christian camp, clearly a setting with a powerful religious ethic. Yet, in the middle of the night, these babies were swept away by dark, swirling torrents of water and drowned. A horrendous event. So, how do these oh, so religious people explain such a catastrophe? Were the girls all evil? The Devil reincarnate somehow all assembled in one campsite? Well, we’ll hear that God works in mysterious ways. Ways we are not given to know. Just remember that when something this horrific happens, it’s simply God’s will. Nice God you have there.

Which one?

So, is this ranting about something the people who ran the camp actually did, or is this just a self-Pitting of how bigoted you are against anyone who believes in a deity?

(For the record, I tried finding something from the camp, a statement after the fact that might bolster this viewpoint, and came up with nothing.)

I see no bigotry here. God has a plan for everyone. Everything happens according to God’s plan. Dozens of innocent little girls died.

What am I suppose to conclude?

Everything I’ve read about this God figure makes him seem like a right bastard. Drowning children would be right up his alley (reportedly, he’s done this kind of thing before).

The person who owned the camp died trying to save kids.

How MAGA of you.

Are we now waiting on the Camp, Abbot, Noem, the state of Texas, or Trump to say this?
The parents? (umm, I hope not)
Or maybe the Church association that supports the camp?
The offended other religions in the area?
The group of teens at the park?
A homeless guy passing by?
A drive thru lady at the bank?

We all know, some may not care, but we really all know dying children is bad. Always bad.

Silly pit.

God doesn’t have to explain himself to you or anyone else. Thats the answer he gave Job. That’s what people will say.

It’s not a good answer.

How very curious. MAGA would bend themselves into pretzels to excuse God from any responsibility.

Then the only biblically consistent conclusion is that god is bad.

MAGA are also too bigoted to recognize bigotry.

This thread is simply attacking families who lost children because they have a belief different from the OP. (After all, they are Christians too.) This is disgusting shit I’d expect from Alex Jones.

So yeah, I think a MAGA comparison is pretty apt.

It seems to be fake outrage(the OP, not the flood they were ill-prepared for)

I don’t need any more rage about this event. Adding this OP is just fanning flames.

Or that the death of children, being part of God’s plan, is, by definition, good.

Also true.

Since God created everything, everything is God’s plan, including sin, so everyone goes to Heaven, and there’s no need for Christianity.

Makes sense?

Or, maybe, that’s not what Christianity says, and is just ignorant.

Take it up with Calvinism.

Oooh. Someone gonna call the Pope.

Calvinism does not equal Christianity.

If there were really people involved with the camp who were trying to excuse the tragedy by using that logic I’d fully endorse this Pitting.

Instead, all I see is, “I don’t like Christians and imagine that they’re okay with this.”

It comes off as a ghoulish snipe against people who went through something terrible. It’s reprehensible.

This is the reality:

As opposed to the OP’s blood libel.

Presumably; that’s the explanation I’ve seen for the past of why God drowned babies in Noah’s Flood. “They were evil babies!”

What does equal Christianity?
