This…this is a perfect example of why we need the year in the date field.
I wasn’t thinking about what day today is and just assumed the Nov 11th posts were from right now.
(and for the next 17 minutes, the “Nov 10” post is from a few minutes short of a full year ago.
If ralfy hadn’t bumped that trying to continue the same argument from last year…

OK, I came back into this thread thinking that at some point someone had shown me that if I switch to a different skin, I have the option of sorting search results ascending (by thread start date or by latest post date).
I can’t find it anywhere, under any skin.
Is there such a capability? If so, can someone walk me through the process, click for click and keystroke for keystroke, including the selection of skin if necessary?

The theme I’m using is Vincent, which seems to have it’s fair share of oddities that the other ones don’t.
I loaded Vincent earlier. Please have pity on me and explain in detail EXACTLY how one sorts search results in ascending instead of descending order when using Vincent. Here’s the top of the search results window using Vincent. I see that I can sort by Relevance, Latest Post, etc, but I don’t see where to tell it ascending versus descending, and it defaults to descending, most recent (or most relevant, I guess) topmost. I want to sort by topic date ascending so the oldest one is on top and they get more recent as you go down the list.
I was misunderstanding then. In my head, newest to oldest is descending. As far as I can tell, there’s no way to make it go in the opposite direction.
Would you be so kind as to refresh my memory on how to install the thing in Chrome, preferably without freaking out Malwarebytes?

Only way I know of right now is to install the app Kiwi Browser, which is a version of mobile Chrome with extension support. Then follow the directions you quoted. Then you could “install” the SDMB as an app for easy access.
Do, BTW, note that currently it only adds the full date if the post was made last year or earlier.

New version is atrocious. Why do post boxes take up 1/4 of screen width leaving the rest blank? Why so primitive? Not last post, no topic starter, no nothing. No pages to look through, just pointless confusing unusable endless scroll garbage.
