Bought a Gameboy today, with PacMan, and a new bikini (in which I only look moderately horrifying). My tattoos are liberally covered in sunblock, and I am heading out to the pool to catch some sun.
Working nights does have its advantages.
The rest of you can laugh at me when I have to go in to work tonight at midnight. For now though, ha ha to anyone who has to be cooped up inside all day long.
Michi, I’m certain that you are probably raising the heat index with your presence in the bikini. Enjoy yourself!!! You’ve got the best time of the year to be outside
The sun? Huh? I seem to recall stories of some such thing once . . . long ago, from my childhood . . .
It’s been so long since I could lay in the sun, that my skin has become so pale and white that I’m almost see-through. If I take off my shirt, the light reflects off my skin so badly that passing planes think someone is signaling for help. The last time I tried it, a bird fly into a telephone pole. I think I blinded him.
Well, I really can’t remember the last time I was out in the sun. I gripe about the fact that I am 30 but look 18, but really, I am in no rush to look like I’m 70! My skin is in good condition and I want to keep it that way. Still, I like a little color in my skin too. I look better with a slight tan. I hate that fake tanning stuff, I’ve tried it. Plus, that isn’t as much fun as sunning by the pool. So now that I have had my hour in the sun, I prolly won’t lay out again for another year.
Ya know, first there was the “Can’t even dress myself post”, (I’d post a link but still haven’t figured out how to do it) where you get all us guys excited when you talk about sitting in your underwear, and now you talk about being in a bikini, and yet you intersperse these posts with how unattractive you are (as you do parenthetically above).
You aren’t fooling me. I’ve seen your picture. Ya look great–and definitely younger than 30.
Stupid question: why would you cover your tattoos with sunblock (I don’t know the first thing about tattoos, don’t have any desire to have one. Just curious.)
How hot is it in Tampa? (I don’t watch the weather channel)
The weather in LA, for this time of the year, sucks. I went to a Dodger game last night without a sweater or jacket and was actually COLD. That’s not supposed to happen in May!
pluto grabs his copy of “What To Say To A Woman In A Bikini Playing Pacman” and “An Introduction To The Sun For People From Seattle” and catches the next flight to FL, hoping to catch a glimpse of Michi in her bikini. Too late!
Tries to return the Speedo purchased just for the occasion but salesgirl faints dead away.
Mrs. Pluto catches him posting this and gives him one alongside the head for impure thoughts, one for the Speedo, and one “just because”.
The tattoos are covered in sunblock to protect them from the sun of course. Keeps the colors bright and the skin healthy.
The weather in Tampa is hot, as always. The weather never changes here. Our winter may consist of one or two days in the 40’s, that’s it. The biggest concern now, though, is rain. We are suffering a big water shortage.
As for my looks, well, I am average. I have a lot of room for improvemnt, that’s for sure, and NO ONE will ever see me in my bikini! I only go to the pool when I am sure no one else is there.
And the pic you saw of me, I am guessing you mean the one on Opal’s page? That one is kinda old but I sent a recent one in to Tech…
Just an interesting little thing about where I work. One of our surgeons is leaving us to go work at Alameda, the animal hospital featured on Animal Planet’s Emergency Vets. We are all going to miss him at my hospital, but this is a wonderful opportunity for him. I can’t wait to see him on TV!
Michelle - Have you thought about joining him? I’m sure you’d have a great TV presence. BTW - I had Kate put to sleep about two months ago. She woke up on morning and couldn’t walk straight and kept falling down. I thought maybe she had a stroke, but the vet said she had an inner ear problem, and we didn’t think she would survive hospitalization. And the vet told me that even if we pulled her through this, what would be next. Her health was steadily deteriorating. It was time. The put her down and held me when I cried.
I am sorry to hear of your dog’s passing, Germain. We see a lot of old dog vestibular disease at my clinic.
As for my going to Alameda, I would have to finish my certification before I could work there. It would be a fun experience; maybe sometime in the future!
I guess what I meant was…do you put more sunblock over your tattoos than the rest of your bare skin? I just thought it might look odd if you had a tan line around your tattoos or some such.
Not trolling, I don’t know the first thing about tattoos and am genuinely curious.
Weather in LA was better than yesterday, but wouldn’t call it beach weather just yet. Soon, I hope.
I’m not good looking, but there’s no way I’m going out sunning myself if no one else is there. Not to show off, as it isn’t worth showing off …just that looking is one of my primary motivations.
The old one on Opal’s page. Also one with SanibelMan, I believe. Wasn’t it you who said that you look about the same as you did in that old picture, or am I mixing you up with someone else (senile at 34…sigh)?
When I was lurking in the old MPSIMS archives about a month ago, there was a period a while back where every other frickin’ thread was named “–ing Michelle” ("–ing" being different verbs, not…well, you know) So I figure you must really be “all that”, your protestations to the contrary.
I put sunblock on the tatoos, and suntan oil on the rest of me. There are no tan lines around my tattoos. I only put it on the colored parts!
I really, really, hate the pic of me with Sani. The old pic of me on Opal’s page is much better, and except for longer hair, I still look like that. You’ll see when Tech is finally able to get the women’s page running.
Why did you hate the pic of you and Sanibel Man? (I haven’t seen it recently, but I didn’t recall you as looking all that different in that one than in the one on Opal’s page)
As to the new picture, I can’t wait!
:whispers to Michelle conspiratorially:
Forget everything I was saying to Shayna and zyada
Oh, you’re just jealous 'cause I’m backlit.
Seriously, it is a bad camera anyway, and if we should meet again I’ll be sure to bring a real camera and scan photos in, mm’kay?
I was able to locate an old high school friend of mine though one of those alumni sites. In high school, Scott and I were practically joined at the hip, but we drifted apart when we went to different universities. I was very pleased to find him listed on the alumni site, and we have been writing back and forth ever since.
He is in town right now visiting his brother in law. We are going to meet for lunch tomorrow. I haven’t seen him in almost 14 years. I’m really excited to be seeing him again after all this time, but it is going to be STRANGE as well. In my mind, he is still 17 years old. Now he is a 30 year old doctor, married, and father to a 3 year old son.
I also wish that I had more going on in my life that I could share with him, but that’s a whole different story. ::sigh::
