The San Francisco Opera is putting on Wagner’s Ring cycle this summer, and I had tickets to the first cycle. It just finished yesterday, and it was awesome!
Just wanted to say that.
There are two more cycles left, if anyone is interested, but I hear that ticket availability is pretty limited.
Thanks – I was trying to be funny. I’m still envious, though! Plus, I love those little people, like that Alberich or whatever his name was. Too bad all the women were so tall, though.
</Adorno on Berg and that other guy whose name starts with something that doesn’t sound good in American>
Booo. (I’m bored waiting for a student [insert profanity] to show up, so I have to do something!). Awful joke, but I laughed. Ah, never mind, have a nice day.
ETA I fucking love the forging “scene” – I used to know all the words, too, but I’ve never seen 'Siegfried" (I believe that’s the one with the sword or whatever) on stage. I’d like to know how the director did it, so, come again.
It was hard to tell for sure from where I was sitting, but it definitely appeared that way. Also, with every stroke sparks would fly up. It was pretty impressive.
(I was way back at the top of the rear balcony. It was all I could afford, and even back there the tickets were expensive. But I could hear just fine.)
