So, it that why I’ve never had a girlfriend? Hmm…
When I met my husband, I was wearing a pair of old jeans (though they weren’t all that ratty), a pair of definitely ratty sandals, and a lacy fashion top. The lacy top would’ve been dressed up. . .except for the fact that I’d managed to put it on backwards without noticing.
I figure with that kind of start, I had nowhere to go but up.
Really Harimad, what you should cultivate is a style that you are comfortable and personal with. That’s your true attraction- comfortable and confident. Beauty like this is irresistable.
Not to imply from my earlier post that I am not sometimes attracted to a women that are “dressed up”, my tastes are just more naturalistic. I remember the vision that changed my world. She was dressed up to her persona, a simple black bohemian sheath dress, just some lipstick and understated eyeshadow. So simple and natural, it reflected her inner beauty. Ravishing. I’ll never forget.
Hell I meet Iris in a pool. I was wearing a pair of Speedos and a swim cap. Though she did smile at me when we first walked in I didn’t talk to her until we were swimming. You can’t get any more undressed then Speedos.
When I met my girlfreind I was wearing 1/2 of a circa 1990s SNL Hans & Franz costume consisting of an old grey sweatshirt stuffed with my ice hockey shoulderpads. So go figure.
I’ve gotta go with “truth in advertising”. You gotta be you.
My wife noticed me when we were in class together because there was a hole in my pants leg. She thought, “How terrible, poor guy can’t even afford new pants.” In reality, I’d just bought them and immediately ripped them on a desk corner. I was too stubborn to throw away an otherwise perfectly good pair of pants. And too lazy to fix them.
First time I saw my fiancee she was in a dressing gown and slippers - worked for me!
I always wear makeup and always do my hair before I go out anywhere. I think the whole key is to dress appropriately for the occasion. My clothes aren’t “dressy” but I don’t wear painting clothes when I go to a club or restaurant.
I see people at the restaurant on Sunday morning that look like they threw on sweats and hit the door straight from their blankets. No way will I do that. But I’m also not going to wear a formal to the pancake house.
