Is there a technical description of this board somewhere? What kind of hardware are you currently running on, OS, webserver, etc? You’re using vBulletin, which is based on PHP scripting and a MySQL DB apparently. Of course, then you’ll have to put up with various remarks from some of us out here in the peanut gallery, but I’d still like to know.
Please, answer if known and so that dummies like me can get an idea…

Um, yeah… About that. Last year we got hacked. Bad. Took us down for a week.
Maybe posting stats would help the bad guys, maybe not.
I vote we don’t post them anyway.
Sorry about that.
Good point. Incidently, I got the OS / webserver combination easily anyway. If you don’t prevent it, most webservers include a header line announcing themselves. I’d still be curious about the kind of hardware you’re running and so on, but it’s probably best not to tell too much to the nasty little hackers.
Anybody that quotes Don Marquis has got to be a pretty cool person, though. This alone might make you very trustworthy.

FTR, I just put some more coals on the fire. The server should be running smoothly for the next 40 minutes or so.
Who’s got the next shift? I think it’s Señor Winkelried.
What happened to the hamsters in the wheels? I always had the impression Jerry was a good man with a whip.

Thank you, TubaDiva. I’ve always felt that that little snippet is a perfect description of discourse on message boards. I used it off and on on USENET as well. I knew somebody would recognize it. Specifically, it’s from the archy and mehitabel article entitled “The Merry Flea”.
Did somebody wind the spring up good this morning, guys?
