Just Returned From Nevada Caucus: First Impressions

My precinct met at a nearby grade school in their library. A little background: my precinct is predominantly white, older and fairly affluent. A total of 87 people showed up. It was a bit disorganized, with some grumbling that the person in charge was wearing a Hillary t-shirt. (On a side note, the representative for Obama from our precinct was a personable young dude who is also a local, professional Sammy Davis Jr. impersonator. Only in Las Vegas…).
So they did the count for our precinct and the final results: 47 for Hillary, 37 for Obama and 3 stuck with Edwards even though their numbers were too low to be included.

I then snuck over to the other part of the school where another precinct was voting to get their tallies: 52 for Obama and 42 for Hillary.

So, the total for the two precincts in that school: Obama 89 and Hillary 89.
How is that for close?

There are 1700 precincts voting all at the same time throughout Nevada – so assuming our numbers are about right and 100 people per precinct vote, that would bring the total number of voters to 170,000 although they were predicting about 50,000.

It is only a bit after 1:00 PM here and final results probably won’t be in until about 5:30 PM or so, but it could be quite interesting to see what the final tallies are.

QUICK UPDATE TO ABOVE POST:
Wow, I just read that they have already declared Hillary the winner! Geez, and the engine of my car is still warm from returning from the caucus…talk about fast predictions…oh well…will still be interesting to see the final numbers.

Allow me to be the first to shout (with tongue firmly planted in my cheek, however): FRAUD!!! It was rigged!!!
